Hundreds and thousands of groups are always asking for donations. I only donate to local groups.

I'm with you, Drac! I make sure I know exactly whats happening with my money. The larger they are, the higher percentage of your dollar going in someone's pocket and not the cause.

I also agree... local gets our donations... rescue and therapeutic riding groups are high on our list.

I have to make myself stay away from a local rescue group on FB because I want to give money to every case! And of course, I donate large amounts of time and work to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch.

Another thing you can do Family is to volunteer at your local charities. Pick one or two that are dear to your heart and go for it.

That’s a wonderful idea. I volunteer at a place called Leg Up Therapeutic Riding Cemter. I love it!

i do this at home, we have 4 stray female cats, one been fixed, my husband working on another one, we have a tom cat, who is mean with the cats.

Getting stray cats fixed is a wonderful thing to do. The tom may not be so mean anymore once he is fixed.
