Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring - 10/25/12 02:54 PM

Hi:
Just installed the game, had a shortcut put on my Desktop, went to it & clicked on Lord Icon. When I do so, I go to a totally black screen. I wait a bit & still nothing happens.
I have a patch (copied on a disc for me) but don't know when or how I go about installing it, if necessary.
Please help!

Try double-clicking on the patch and see what happens.

With some older games you have to copy the patch to the game folder before double-clicking it.

Hi Jenny:
Do not comprehend, the patch is on a separate disc. I inserted it, went to My Computer, clicked (double) to open it & nothing happpens.
Should I just give up on playing this game?
Have a wonderful weekend Jenny.

Do you see the patch when you navigate to the disc?
It's the patch you have to double-click, not the drive letter.

You may have to copy the patch to the game folder before running it. If it's ***this one***, it's 10 years old.

If you have Windows 7, you might have to right-click the patch and choose "Run As Administrator." Even before that, you may have to uninstall the game (if it installed to Program Files) and install it to your Documents folder instead.

Did not realize I had to wait a bit before it installed, I clicked Finish then put the playing disc in my computer & clicked on the game icon to play & again, I just get a black screen.

You know Jenny, it's all so confusing to me (me the computer illiterate) all your explanations to me.

After looking at the instruction booklet, I see that it's mostly a keyboard operated game, of which I dislike, so, I think I'm just going to give up & try another game I have.

Thanks again for always "being there" for all of us.
