desktop icons from moving

everytime i play a game the desktop icons move, how do i stop it.

Check you Icon settings - Right click the desktop and peruse to View. There are two settings, Auto Arrange and Align to Grid, place a check mark on each.

When you start a game that plays in a resolution that's something different than your Desktop, the Icons will move.

Wasn't there a free tool that someone at GB found that would put your desktop icons back the way they were if a game rearranged them? I can't remember the name of it.

thanks that work, i had to check the layout preview, and now i don't have to rearrange it everytime i play a game.

It drives me nutty when I have to restore the icons to the position I've chosen for them. Wahoo, a fix!
