I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but this has happened to me twice very recently. I downloaded Dreamscapes: The Sandman direct from Playrix and later on, I downloaded the demo from BFG, after having deleted the original demo. I have tried all day long to play the BFG demo without success. It just freezes on me. I am thinking that maybe some small programme has been left on my laptop by the Playrix demo but cant find it. I have done a search for any such file to no avail. I want to buy this game in today's sale but despite installing and uninstalling the demo several times, the demo still will not play for me. Any suggestions please before I contact BFG CS?

I've moved you over to Glitches, Bugs & Patches in the hope that the techies might have some advice to offer. I'm not sure what the problem might be.

If all else fails, if you end up writing/talking to Big Fish Customer Support and explain your problem, they will honor the sale price so that you can still take advantage of it (assuming your problem is resolved). wave

You are welcome - as you know, Big Fish Customer Support is great and I'm sure they will compensate you for the game if you can't get it running correctly. wave

Have you tried a registry cleaner, like the "Registry" option of Ccleaner?
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/tour/registry-cleaner

Don't just use the regular "Cleaner" option on Ccleaner -- you need the "Registry" option to clean the registry.

Ran CCleaner (Registry) and I am now getting the error message "GetThreadContext failed" when I try to play the game, so I think it's time to contact BFG CS on this one.

Did you run Ccleaner only once? You have to keep running it and fixing errors and runnning it again and fixing errors again, etc. until it finds no more errors to fix.

Also you want to delete any game folders that either of the installs might have left behind as well as uninstalling from Add/Remove Programs before running Ccleaner. Sorry I forgot to mention that.

Once Ccleaner finds there are no more errors to fix, you reinstall the game from Big Fish.

It usually takes more than once.
I updated my post about deleting game folders, so be sure you do that too.

Yes I saw that update, jenny, but I had already deleted all other game files and folders. I have now run CCleaner Registry until it could find no more issues, and have deleted the game again.
