Win 8 Bill pay/Appointment reminder

Hi. Can someone recommend a good app./gadget/calendar/ that will remind me of appointments or pay date for bills?
Something very simple to set up and that is tried and true. I've been reading that some of the newer task reminders have been deleting some of the information on re-boot.

Hi Terri,

I use Windows LiveMail, which sits alongside my Win 7 e-mail program, and has a calendar function that can be used for appointments, etc. It e-mails you a day before any appointment, as a reminder. It also shows appts on a month-by-month basis on your main e-mail screen. LiveMail is a free download from Microsoft.

Edit: I just noticed you mentioned Win 8 specifically. Not sure if LiveMail is compatible for that, but may well be. Am sure others will advise!

Terri, I just use the Calendar app included as a default in Windows 8. I set up an appointment or a reminder and it tells me ahead of time what's coming up. You can set it to simply remind you with a notice in the upper right corner of your screen or you can have it send you can email.

EDIT: I just found a free app in the App Store called RemindMe... sounds like it might be what you're looking for. Just bring up the Charms on the right and select Search; type in reminders and click on Store in the list below and it will bring up all the apps that are reminders.

Thanks Drac. I need to read a bit more to see if the dates can be carried over each month or if you have to relist them monthly.
