Anna download - 04/27/13 12:22 AM

Hi. I need some ideas on this please. I had downloaded Anna first on my HP with Vista OS. Put it on hold for a month or so and hadn't gotten too far so decided to play. I had no saved games, they were gone! I could only start a new game. The tech guy where I bought it said a new edition was to be out in a few days if I wanted to wait and download it again. After a few days I downloaded it onto my Cyberpower with Win8 os. Played quite a bit and had just gotten Anna's key and saved the game. The next time I went to play, eek again I had no saved games. Any clues as to what might have happened?

Is it possible that something like an antivirus (or Windows itself) could be blocking the game from making changes (like creating saves).

When you play it again, try right-clicking the shortcut and choosing "Run As Administrator," which may allow the game to make saves.

Maybe Draclvr (our Windows 8 and Games guru) will have more suggestions. I haven't run any games on Windows 8, though it seems like you had the same trouble in Vista.

Jenny. I can't believe the problem is on this end since I had this happen on two different computers which had two different o/s. I think I was pretty close to the end or at least 3/4 finished with it. I had first thought it was because the website that I d/loaded this game from kept up dating their software, but now not so sure.
I did want to finish it but guess I will ask for a refund because I have no intention of starting this game over. It's the most bizarre game I've ever played!
Thanks,

If you're using something like Steam, which automatically updates your games, that is a possibility. I think there is a way to turn that feature off in Steam.

I'm up in NW Iowa 600 miles away from my Windows 8 computer, but I would suggest contacting wherever you got the game from and asking them...

EDIT: I did a Google search and found one forum (full of very rude and obscene posts) and saw several that mentioned trouble saving. You have to use Escape and the press the F1 key to save... Is this what you're doing?
