Is there a patch for the CD game of Still Life so I can play on Windows 7? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to install and play the game yet? In our Windows 7 and Games thread stickied at the top of the Glitches forum, I see that someone had to set it to Windows NT 4.0 in compatibility mode.

Still life requires a NoCD patch (Google Still Life NoCD, you'll find it). At least the version I own does. The Starforce drivers are incompatible with Windows 7.

I got the disc version of Still Life working on my Windows 7 by installing the Vista patch for the game. It ran perfectly after that. smile

The Vista patch is a NoCD patch.

If you don't want to use a NoCD, both GOG and DotEMU are selling DRM-free versions that don't have the StarForce that prevents the game from running. Of course that's an extra $10 or $15.

One place that offers the "Vista patch" is Gamefront;11762898;/fileinfo.html

I'm not sure where Rushes got the patch, but it's probably the same one.

I downloaded the patch from Gamefront, and it came with a "Lisez-moi" because it is apparently a French patch. The translated instructions are

  • 1. Install the complete version of the game (all the files)
  • 2. Launch the StillLife_vista.exe in Administrator mode.

Of course you have to unzip the file you download from Gamefront (or wherever) first.
