Hi I was just wondering if any of you are enjoying "Steam" It is driving me nuts. Trying to play a game is just crazy, installing Steam then having to join Steam community to get any help. I am in the process of waiting for a reply on trying just to start ANNA. I cant play the game without this performance. Any one know a way around all this.

While I'm not a huge fan of Steam, I use it and have never had any problems. You don't have to join the community to ask for help. You can ask their support for assistance although it sometimes take a couple of days to get an answer.

Thanks for that Draclvr, They have given me a product code to enter and I have done this checking each time that it is correct eg. upper case, lower case, numbers etc I have copied it on a clipboard as they suggested, now I don't know where the clipboard is. I will just have to wait for their reply.

The "clipboard" is where something goes when you copy it.
Pasting it somewhere is pasting from the clipboard.
You never actually "see" a clipboard or a program called "clipboard."

Thanks Jenny 100 I am such an idiot got the code pasted no problem ,now they asked for my email and password and they don't recognise any of them , I will wait for their email and see what they have to say. Crazy

Maggsie. I've had problems with them not recognizing me and it's a pain having to resend info. I hope you can get this worked out soon.
Also I am anxious to see what you think of the game.

I also had problems with them not recognizing me and then the code they sent me..twice...then they reset my password gave me that one and I was able to log on and change my password. This was only about 2weeks ago

Thanks Teri and Winfrey its nice to know I am not alone. I also am ready to play this game it looks great, Its strange as I bought Deponia and that is Steam,no problem with that at all no product code to deal with. This ANNA must be good I hope that is if I ever get to play it LOL

You probably know this, but a quick way to copy or paste any text is - highlight - press Ctrl C and to paste Ctrl V. I use it all the time when getting my free Big Fish games. wave

Thanks for that Upsydaisy. I am now on my second email to Steam help. they don't recognize my email or password. it will not let me change password now, crazy crazy company

Hi Just to give you an update, I am still trying to play this game after about a zillion emails and their crazy codes, they still will not recognize my email and password on the game, how they email me is a hoot LOL.
I tried to play it offline and the curser was floating all over the place, do you think this is because I was not connected to Steam?

Maggsie, I'm having the same problem.

It recognizes the username and password when I Login to Steam but not when I want to play AnnaEE.

I posted my question for help May 26th and added extra info. NO response. duh

Hi Chief Sorry your having the same problem but glad I am not alone. It takes about three days to get a reply from them, I have deleted all their emails as they were cluttering up my screen. Not much help just crazy codes and to go to secret question. I did all they asked and it was all accepted till I went into the game and then it wont recognize my email, crazy, crazy. Have to tried to play it offline yet? I emailed them again being very sarcastic, I will let you know what they come up with. Hope you have better luck

Maggsie, to play AnnaEE, do this:

I presume that you have an icon of AnnaEE on your desktop.

Click it and you have to Login to Steam.

You will then get the offer to play AnnaEE.

At the bottom, you have to create an account to Kalipso Media Launcher. (That is why you are not recognize)

You will then get an e-mail to activate your account.

Come back to the AnnaEE icon, click it and your e-mail and password will be there. Click on continue and go from there.

Maggsie. Gee, I figured you got it all worked out by now and got so involved in the game you forgot to tell us.
If all else fails, can you get your money back? Amazon has it for 9.99 download.

Thanks a bunch Chief I thought that was crazy firm linked to steam to get me to buy stuff. Always cautious LOL
I will try that tonight I hope the curser won't float all over the place it did that when I tried to play offline.

Hi couldn't wait till tonight did what you said and Yeah!!!!!! I was in. Now another problem curser is floating all over the place eventually got the two small doors open, now facing a cracked wall I cant break. Its taking me a while to search for something to break it with the curser floating, about any ideas

Make sure your video card is adequate to play the game. If it's low end, try turning down or turning off graphics enhancements in the game's menu (like shadows, glow, animations, antialiasing, filtering, or whatever else you see there)

The game has a minimum requirement of a GeForce 6600GT or a Raedon X850. If you have integrated graphics, that could be your problem.

Now you've all got me thinking about the flashing in the game. If I went from one room to the other or to the other floor the flashing drove me nuts. I had to click on the wall several times and it stopped. Is it supposed to do that?

No it's not supposed to do that. There are several YouTube videos you can check to see how the game is supposed to look. The problem may be due to a slight incompatibility with your video drivers. Newer or older drivers than the ones you're using might work better, though it depends on what card you have.

The Geforce 310m should be better than the Geforce 6600 that Draclvr mentioned according to this benchmarking site:

But I'm not sure what the 2234MR means. If the card uses mostly shared memory, that could be why it's slow (and making your cursor "float"). Oh gee, tell me it's not so. My Cyberpower has GeForce GT 620. No wonder it made me sick. sick The other day I was playing Anna on two computers, at different parts of the game!

Your GT 620 is WAY more than this game requires, plus it doesn't share memory with anything else - it's a stand-alone card. It's a very good card for adventure gaming.

Thanks Jenny100 I will try and switch any extra stuff to see if that works. I have had so much bother with this game I am ready to throw it out the window and I live on the 23rd floor.
This is the last game I get that has Steam attached to it.

A Google search shows you're not alone in having these problems. I don't think it has anything to do with where you bought the game. You might try what's suggested in this forum

One person said it has to do with the Unity game engine and that "reducing the quality" might help. I guess this means turning down graphics options. Another person said he got rid of the flashing by reducing resolution.

If it has dedicated memory and not shared memory, then it meets the listed requirements (barely). It's a little better than the Geforce 6600 GT Draclvr said was the minimum, though not by much. You'd probably have to turn down all the graphics options to get it to play acceptably.

Thanks Jenny. I'm working on it. Have turned down eveything, still flashing. Wonder how far down I'm going to have to reduce the resolution.
I'll work with it again today, hopefully I can get it right.

By golly, I think I've got it. I changed the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1024x768. Wow, now maybe I can play the game without getting sick!

I'm so glad I found this posting I am having the exact same problem trying to play Anna EE.I have emailed Steam several times so far no help. I already did what you said about logging into Kalypso but when I click on continue I get your account hasn't been activated yet.We have sent an email to your email address." I already have emails saying that everything is activated.Are those the emails they are talking about or am I supposed to get something from Kalypso? Its very frustrating when you pay for something you cant use. Been trying for a couple weeks now. Thanks for any suggestions.

I avoid anything with Steam like the Plague.

...it sounds like you need two accounts, one with Steam and another with Kalipso Media Launcher -- which makes no sense to me at all and sounds needlessly complicated.

When I did a Google search for Kalipso Media Launcher, I came up with this

and right there it says
"Use kalypso launcher to download additional assets"
So I'm guessing Steam doesn't give you the whole game and you have to get the rest of it from Kalypso Media Launcher. It may be automatic if you already have an account with Kalypso Media Launcher, but if you don't you have to go through extra rigmarole. Again, I'm not sure because I don't mess with Steam.

I appreciate your advice.Kalipso hasn't sent us the email yet. I will keep trying to get steam to help. If anyone else has any suggestions I will be grateful. It must be the game. I have played 3 other games through steam with no problems.

brajki, after opening the account with Kalypso, you should have received an e-mail in which you just had to click on "Activate the account" (or something similar).

And you go on from there as I said in Jenny's post just on top of yours.

brajki, just to be sure, I guess you did not enter the Steam Username and Password in where you must open an account to Kalypso.

I did that until I discover I was registering to Kalypso and not Login in to Steam.

We did that first then we realized and we changed it.now when I hit continue I get a message that says "your account was not activated. We have sent an activation email to your email address." We never get the email. So far its been about 2 weeks.

oh I thought I was the only one having big headaches with Anna the extended version regular version key code problems I bought mine from stream i buy from stream on a rare occasion i still cant get it to work anyway waitng for an answer dianne
