My computer does not have the file mentioned in the above article. I have never had the mentioned problem, but would it be okay to install the file and perhaps avoid the problem in the future or should I wait and let a game install the file?

A game should install everything it needs.They will even install different versions of Directx. I would wait and let a game install the file when needed.I don't know why that didn't happen with pittston.
