What does this mean in Face Noir

In the Setup Settings for Face Noir what exactly does this mean?

Many Integrated Graphics Processors don't support Hardware T&L features (Transform and Lighting). If you're running a current Add-In card (and I believe you are, if this is you're new rig) - enable the option.
