Inexpensive Laptop

I have three desktop computers and I love them but I will be on the road shortly and for the first time in over ten years am looking to buy an inexpensive laptop to play my games on while I sit in my hotel room waiting to attend a meeting. I don't want to spend money on a state of the art system because I will only use it when I travel. Can anyone suggest one that can play some of my latest games like Face Noir, Gray Matter and Secret Files3. My desktop is a custom gaming computer with o/s Windows7.

Unfortunately, lexxy, there is a chance some of the newer games will not play on a cheap laptop with integrated graphics. You should look up the video requirements for the games and then see if integrated graphic will be adequate. Both Face Noir and Secret Files need a minimum of a 128 MB card and Gray Matter requirements were higher.

Depends on what you call cheap. I bought my lappy about 5 years ago which was was pretty cheap (at least considered so in the UK) £400. GFX is an nVidia 8200M - pretty ropey but it comfortably plays those games you mention there. Given that people in the Americas get a far bigger bang for their quid I don't think you'd have too much difficulty to find one that will play Adventures, just don't expect it to play other, more graphic intensive types of game.

lexxie, Newegg has this refurbished Asus for $280 after a $40 rebate. I don't know a lot about that 7640G video card, but it might be worth looking into to see if it will work for you. The price is definitely right!
