This probably isn't your answer, Dar, but I had a problem with very slow, jerky scrolling the other day. Turned out the battery in my mouse was really low. (I use a cordless mouse.) Just in case, check that.

If the in-game settings offer a lower screen resolution try lowering it. If you're graphics processor is running too high, it can cause erratic mouse movement.

It might also be your CPU - what are your system specs?

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 02:35 PM

The program Draclvr likes is Speccy
http://www.piriform.com/speccy

You can use the free version
http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

Otherwise you could use the Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Or use dxdiag
Click the Start button on the lower left of your screen. Click Run. Type
dxdiag
in the box and OK it.
The Display tab has the video card information.
The System tab includes RAM and processor information.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 02:41 PM

This game has some fairly hefty requirements, so unless your old XP computer has a minimum of a 512 MB discrete video card and a pretty good processor, that could be your problem.

Minimum is:

OS: Windows Vista/7/8
Processor: 2.5 GHz Single Core Processor or 2 GHz Dual Core Processor
Memory: 2500 MB RAM
Graphics: OpenGL 2.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM (Shared Memory is not recommended)
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Ok I downloaded Speccy

How do I post here with the specs?

I just highlighted and selected copy to the clipboard, then pasted here. The formatting looks goofy, but it shows up here OK.

Looks like everything but the video card meets the minimum specs. Can you turn down any video effects in the game? Hopefully Inland or Jenny can help you out... I have to run out to work on another computer for someone.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 03:33 PM

Thanks ,Drac

Yes in the game you can adjust video effects, but I don't know to what ?

In the game settings it has:

Graphic Settings:

Fullscreen mode

Window size: 1920X1080

HD Cutscenes

Additional Effects:

High>MED>LOW

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 03:47 PM

Yes indeed, the specs all seem to be adequate with the exception of your video memory. However, there is one item that seems a bit odd.

DxDiag Previously: Crashed in Direct3D (stage 2)

Did you disable acceleration for another game by any chance? Just to be on the safe side, run DXDiag and see if stage 2 crashes again.

To lower the in-game settings, look for any options that allow you to control Anti Aliasing, Bloom, Shadows etc... and adjust them as low as you can. The screen resolution may have to be lowered as well.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 03:58 PM

Hi, Inland

There is no Anti Aliasing in the game... smirk

Let me run Dxdiag again...I think I did the crash cause I didn't wait for everything to load..

I think its OK now..

256MB is only half the video RAM of what the game specs recommend.
That means the computer may be using system RAM to supplement the video RAM -- and you only have 2046 MB of that -- 2GB where the game's specs at ***Adventure Shop*** ask for 2.5 GB

BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 2.5.3

Of course you're using XP instead of Vista, 7, or 8 so you may not need a full 2.5 GB of RAM for the game in XP.

Are you able to reduce the windows size, set "Additional Effects" to LOW, and put Cutscenes on less than HD? If so, does it help at all? Maybe one or more of those changes would help with the slow loading and "sticky" mouse.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 06:11 PM

Hi, Jenny

Yes I can adjust window size. but to what.. If I set it to 1280X720..I get no pic at all...

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 07:39 PM

What are the available resolutions you see? Try a standard 1024x768 resolution and see if it displays.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/10/13 08:17 PM

Ok that one worked it loaded, The mouse is alittle better, but it still lags a bit..

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/11/13 09:51 PM

Hi, Inland

Guess what I have been playing in the screen resolution you suggested at 1024X768..I am now on the third chapter, and there is NO sticky mouse woot

Thank You , and Thank You to all that took the time to help me...

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/12/13 02:44 AM

I had the same experience as you are having, Darleen, but all that's needed is a little patience. I finished the game a few days ago (Thanks to Mag and Bert). I enjoyed it very much.

Thats great, sanford...I tried downloading it to hubbies laptop which has windows 7,. but no luck...It was worse...Grahfics were horrible..

Yes ,Drac ...I was looking into a new computer lol

I know sooner or later I will have to upgrade smirk, but I love XP hearts

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/12/13 06:11 PM

Don't forget that all support for XP will cease in just 7 months, so I'd keep looking for that new computer.

Unless his computer has a good video card for gaming (which most computers don't), I wouldn't expect it to be better. The problem isn't with XP or Windows 7.

I agree with Jenny about what she said about the video card. That IS what matters.

Re: Memoria "Sticky Mouse" - 09/13/13 02:48 AM

I suspect hubby's computer had integrated graphics on the processor which are utterly useless for gaming. Like Jenny says, it had nothing to do with Windows 7 or even XP... it's all about the graphics requirements of the game.
