msvcr71.dll

Sorry this is not strictly a gaming question, I am trying to upload some pictures from my camera and I am getting the message that msvcr71.dll is missing, I have been on to Microsoft to find the answer and although I can find discussions regarding this file I cannot find where to download it, so I tried googling it and can find lots of sites offering it they all seem to come with 'strings' attached such as their own products which of course I don't want, all I wanted was to find the right Microsoft site. I did contact the camera manufacturer and they told me to contact Microsoft!! Would any of you wonderful experts out there know where I can download this file at Microsoft.

It isn't Microsoft, but I've used this site before quite often, and it's safe. Just don't fall for all the spin rot trying to sell you programs.

Click on the grey "download zip-file" button below the big orange one. It'll save as a zip file, so you'll need to unzip it before you install. The web page has a dropdown arrow that'll tell you (as an "advanced" user) where to save the file to.
