I can't load saved game from Night of the Rabbit

Every time I try, the computer locks up, the sound stutters, and I have to do a ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. I tried loading a previous save. No success. Help!

Any chance that this is caused by an antivirus -- either blocking the game from properly loading saves or blocking it from creating good saves in the first place?

Were you ever able to load that previous save?

Are you able to restart the game and create a save that works?

OK. This is new. I just tried to load it again and it crashed to the desktop without loading.
Jenny, I've been playing the game for several days without hitch. This problem started yesterday. I tried loading a previously saved game but had the same problem Our antivirus hasn't changed.

Edit: I was able to play the game when I went back two saves, but it crashed again in the middle of the play.

Antivirus don't stay the same.
They update their signatures in the background, and some may also update their behavioral blocking rules in order to block new virus threats.

You might try adding the game to your antivirus's exceptions list.
It won't hurt and might help.

If your computer's video card is only borderline at meeting the system requirements, you may have reached a part of the game which is more demanding. Check the menu to see if there are any graphics effects you can turn down.

Do you have the latest version of the game? There have been some updates to the original version, so if you don't have the latest version a patch might help. Which patch you use would depend on where you bought the game. You may have to get saves for the new version if you use one of the updates according to

Seems strange that it would affect saved games, but maybe it forces the game to save in a different way.

Yep. That's it. And it does make loading slower, but at least it works.
