Steam log in etc.

Today I purchased a game from Gamaersgate. I have many of their games and have never had any problems. But today after ordering my game I was directed
to download it from Steam. I have always downloaded my games directly from the Gamersgate site. I have used Steam in the past but not for some time
So when I tried to log in I was denied access. I have changed computers and they seemed to know I had done this so they denied me access to my account. I e-mailed Steam to get help and they only confused me with do this and do that to verify your account. I just couldn't see where they wanted
me to put in the veification code they e-mailed to me. So I tried to create a new account with a different e-mail address. When I tried to type in
the letters, symbols and numbers shown in a small box to continue I was denied again. No matter how many times I tried to type in the symbols shown
it was wrong. I tried with spaces without spaces etc., I was always denied to go any further. I can't understand how many other ways you can type
in the symbols they show you. I was hoping someone here could tell me what I may be doing wrong....I asked my husband to try and he didn't get it
correct either...I am really stumped. Thanks for any input.

You're supposed to be able to log into Steam on any computer and download and install your games. So using a different computer shouldn't have mattered as long as Steam was installed.

If you're not able to log into Steam, you need to figure out why that is.
If someone hijacked your account and changed the password, only Steam is going to be able to help you.
