I downloaded the game but I cant play it .when I click on the icon it says error and it says error protection.. what must I do then

When you say "download," do you mean that you downloaded it from a website, or did you install the game from a physical CD/DVD?

My copy is a physical disc, and uses Starforce V3 which isn't compatible with Windows 7. If you're having the same issue, and it sounds like it is, you need to Google "Still Life NoCD". Just download and install the patch.

Where was the game downloaded from? Most downloads are already patched.

If it's one of the originals, you're going to need a NoCD patch. Give the Vista patch a shot, it's basically the same as the NoCD patch and also works on Windows 7.
