My Steam Games - 04/08/15 06:44 PM

Hi all - not sure where this question belongs but here it is...

I got rid of STEAM - I don't like the way their software buries itself on my PC; so my question is... where are the games I purchased and downloaded through STEAM on my PC? I want to wipe my system clean of steam but I want to save my purchased games somewhere where I can get to them. I want to be able to install them again if I need to, without Steam's intervention.

I thought I read somewhere that you don't actually own the games ! Is this true?

Usually they're inside a subfolder of the Steam folder.
See if you still have a "Steam/Steamapps/Common/" folder with the games in it

Info on how to tell whether your Steam games are "Launcher-Free" and will run without Steam are here:

Thank you Jenny ! There are STEAM folders everywhere - Program Files - Program Files x86 - Common Folders - under you user name in App Data ( Hidden ) woozy

I only have 2 games I used Steam for which I played already - so I will they will go out with Steam !

Lesson learned for me ! snicker

yes its true you really don't own the games you purchase from steam you apparently are just renting them
which is really weird I only buy from them when I cant find them on G0G as this is where I prefer to purchase
at least you actually own the games and you have your very own library and they do not mind if you like to put them on a disk.
and their tech support will answer you with any problems you may have.
