I'm wondering if your computer meets the system requirements for the game, which are as follows:

Quote:
System Requirements

Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit/ Windows 8 64 Bit/ Windows 10 64 Bit
Processor: Core i5 processor or equivalent
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Intel HD4400 / AMD Radeon 5750 1Gb VRAM / NVidia Geforce 640 1Gb VRAM
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 4 GB available space

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit/ Windows 8 64 Bit/ Windows 10 64 Bit
Processor: Core i5 processor or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA 760 series 2Gb VRAM or better / AMD Radeon R9 270X 2Gb VRAM or better
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 4 GB available space

Does your computer meet the requirements for memory, video card, processor, etc.?

I still don't know what kind of video card you have, but I suspect the problem is that the system requirements for this game exceed what your computer can handle.

But let's wait for one of our techies to confirm this, okay? wave

The files don't really matter that much, but the video card does. Go to "start" button and type in "dxdiag" at the search space. Then click the display tab at the top to see what you have. See if it meets the recommended requirements.

When someone is having trouble with a modern 3D game and doesn't know what their video card is, the video card is usually the problem.

My video card didn't meet the requirement for this game either.

You can find what your video card is by either using dxdiag, as Geo described, or by running a program that detects your computer's hardware, like Speccy or BelArc. Speccy is from the makers of ccleaner.

Newness makes absolutely no difference.
Unless it was a $$$$.$$ gaming laptop, it's likely slower than a desktop (unless the desktop is very VERY old or is a "bargain" made-for-office-use-only desktop). Most laptops emphasize battery life over performance (speed).

You can check the game's options menu to see if it has graphics options that allow you to turn graphics effects down or off. For example, if the game's menu has graphics options, turn off antialiasing, turn off anisotropic filtering, turn off shadows, turn off glow, turn off water movement, reduce resolution all the way, etc.

As Jenny said, herein lies your problem. You have Intel HD graphics integrated into your processor. This video chip will not run the game and does not meet minimum, let alone recommended, requirements. I suspect your daughter's computer also uses an integrated video chip.

The Intel CPU G620T processor and video chip is not good for gaming other than casual games from Big Fish and older games that didn't have much of a video requirement.

Re: The Park - 04/23/16 07:25 PM

From the specs Marian quoted, you need at least
Graphics: Intel HD4400

However even if your graphics was that, it's the "Minimum" you'd need to run the game, and your game is running -- just too slow to be enjoyable.

If you want the game to be enjoyable and look like it does in trailers, you'd need the "Recommended"
Graphics: NVIDIA 760 series 2Gb VRAM or better / AMD Radeon R9 270X 2Gb

Otherwise see if you can turn down graphics options in the game menu.
I don't have this game so I can't check for you.

Here's a review of Intel G620T that backs up what Draclvr said --

Re: The Park - 04/23/16 07:31 PM

In Leeana's post above she has this...

Quote:
Intel (r) Premium (R0 CPU G620T @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz)

So unless, she has a separate stand-alone video card, her GPU chip is part of that G620T CPU. It's a nice little processor for basic computing and casual games, but will not play games with any kind of stand-alone video card requirements.

Leeana, there is nothing that you can download that will fix this problem - the only solution would be a new computer that meets or exceeds the system requirements for the game or (if possible) an upgrading of system components, unfortunately. I suggest you get a refund if turning down graphical options from the game menu (if possible) does not help. Sorry. wave

Re: The Park - 04/23/16 08:27 PM

Leeana, Marian is right. The problem is your computer is not capable of playing this game, not a website or a patch. Nothing but a new computer with a stand-alone graphics card will fix it. Hopefully you can get a refund.

I agree with Draclvr.
Most computers you'll find for sale locally are meant for office work and not for 3D gaming.
You need to make sure what you buy has a video card that's suitable for playing games like "The Park."
