Hi I hope you can help I have just purchased Schizm from GOG I have tried for ages to download it .Driving me nuts went to there help and it asks where to put it, but I just get message saying cant find file. Tried in install in my downloads and other areas with no luck. Any ideas what I am doing wrong

I had no trouble downloading it with Firefox.
That was back when it was first announced.

When do you get the message "can't find file?"
When you download or when you try to install?

There are three files to download:
setup_schizm_b744_(15806).exe
setup_schizm_b744_(15806)-1.bin
setup_schizm_b744_(15806)-2.bin

If you're trying to use the GOG downloader, I've never used it. I've only done straight file downloads using Firefox.

i use google crome and never had a problem at all.useing GOG downloader.good luck.

It's not clear to me whether maggsie is using the GOG downloader or not.

There are three ways of downloading games from GOG:

Direct download using your web browser.
Using GOG's Galaxy client.
Using the GOG downloader from https://www.gog.com/downloader

People who try to use IE or Edge to download files may run into difficulties because Microsoft tries to block download of .exe files, sometimes renaming them to remove the extension so they don't work.

Hi This is what happens when I try to download. There are three sections to download. I click on the first 1.of 3 and it asks for the language I click English then this notice comes up saying installer needs next file. under that its is "Path" which is in blue and that is microsftedge with numbers and stuff after it . I click ok and that when I get, cant find file. I them tried the browser and picked "Programs" for it to go to with no luck then tried to get it in my downloads with no luck at all. What shall I do next. Have I got to install GOG downloader. The last game I got from them was Broken Sword and had no difficulty at all.

I would try using the GOG downloader or a different browser and see what happens.

I am having real trouble trying to sort this out. I am trying to download the Gog downloader but it will not let me It asks me for my email and password then it says that it is wrong and click if forgotten password, this I do and it puts me straight back to my game which I cant download. You say try another browser but I don't know how to do this !!!!
GOG are no help at all.

This is kind of strange. GOG is very slow to answer requests for help. Have you tried reading any of the Help subjects here...

You could try downloading Firefox, installing it and seeing if you have better luck with it.

If it were me, I would use GOG Galaxy to download the game, which will download the entire game all at once and no fiddling otherwise.

It sounds to me like Edge is trying to run the file instead of download it -- and of course the game .exe can't run properly because it needs the two .bin files which aren't downloaded yet. These three files need to be downloaded and run from the same folder on your hard drive before the .exe is run:

setup_schizm_b744_(15806).exe
setup_schizm_b744_(15806)-1.bin
setup_schizm_b744_(15806)-2.bin

I'm not familiar with the GOG downloader or Galaxy. I use Firefox to download, though I think almost any browser other than Edge or IE would work. Edge and IE make it too easy to run a file when you really want is to download it.

Thanks for all your suggestions My daughter solved it for me Saved and downloaded it took about 2 hours but she got there in the end Phew!!!!. I had the GOG downloader just couldn't find it.

It can take about 2 hours to download, depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Glad you had someone to help get it downloaded.
