Can't Run Witcher 2 In Windows 10

I installed The Witcher 2:Assasins of Kings Enhanced Edition from disks (had it in the closet for several years) on my computer running Windows 10, did all the updates it offered but all I get is a black screen instead of starting the game. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I see on the Forum that folks say it runs in Windows 10 but there must be a secret. All suggestions appreciated.

Does your computer meet the system requirements for the game? I have it on my Windows 10 computer, but mine is a download from GOG.

Minimum requirements:

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB or Radeon HD 3850 512 MB (finding a graphics card performance hierarchy chart online and comparing one’s video card with our minimum is suggested)
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or dual core AMD 2.5 GHz
RAM: 1 GB Windows XP, 2 GB Windows Vista/7
Hard Drive: 23 GB (The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition)

It appears the CD version does have DRM which Windows 10 might be blocking. Supposedly if you patch the game, it removes the DRM. Not sure if this is the right one, but I did find this.

Some of the English DVD versions used SecuROM v8 which may be being blocked by Windows 10.

I suspect the problem you are having would not exist with this download version, assuming your computer meets the system requirements.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I was able to get the game running smoothly by right-clicking on the Icon and selecting Properties and then Compatibility and setting it at Windows 7 and then Apply. That seemed to do the trick. Thanks again for all your suggestions and for your time spent on my problem.
