Windows 10 up date vs Steam Games

Hi Guys

I updated to the latest window 10 on 8th of December as per the notification from Windows, at the time I was playing the 2nd case of Sherlock Holmes, The Devils Daughter, after the update, the game would not run, I checked the Steam Forum and nothing was showing in there regards issues with the update, in the end I reverted back to the previous Windows built via the recovery option, the game still wont run (it was running fine prior to the update), anyone else had the same problems, any help gratefully appriciated

I had a couple of Steam games going when I did the update, but had no problems at all getting back into them.

I assume you've tried rebooting the computer at least once.

The title of your thread mentions "Steam Games."
Are you having trouble with other Steam games too or only with "Devil's Daughter?"

Maybe Draclvr could answer this -- Would using the recovery option have gone back to before the game was installed?

Hi Guys

I rebooted after the update, this is when the issues started, it mentioned an error regard 32 bit (I run on 62bit) I reverted back to a previous Windows 10 build via the recovery option, I unistalled the game and downloaded it again from Steam, but it stil would not run, I have unistalled it again, rebooted and I am at present downloading the game again. Will let you know the outcome

Hi Guys

Finaly cracked it, it was a dll file that was corrupt, searched Microsoft and found the solution, game now loaded and at the play screen, will start playing again tomorrow, Its always worth searching if an error regarding microsoft pops up
