Can anyone tell me where The saved Games for Big Fish Games is located on Windows 10?

There really isn't any saved games location for the majority of Big Fish Games. They are set to auto save when you exit and then pick up where you left off.

Penny Lane is playing Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring and is trying to find where the saved games might be located for an adventure game that does not auto save.

She is trying to use a saved game to help her get past a difficult spot, but can't find where the saved games are with the Big Fish download version.

I don't have Windows 10 and my suggestions for where saved games are located based on my experience of Windows 7, did not help her to locate them.

This is of course assuming that a saved game would even work with the Big Fish downloaded version, as I have never tried this myself.

Now that is a different story which is why I said "most" Big Fish Games. If this is a full adventure game which has not been dumbed down like they do some of them, there very well may be a saved game location.

A lot of games get put into the hidden files, but since this is a Big Fish game, they might have changed how it saves. I would suggest contacting Big Fish and see if they can help her.

I checked and the original game saved in whatever path to the game is and then Saves. She might check in the hidden files... C:/Users/hername/AppData and check in one of the 4 files located there. I'd start with Local first. It may be under Big Fish or Sherlock Holmes.

In the meantime, check in your AppData files. Who knows, maybe you'll find it there!

Going by this...
http://mail.frogwares.com/support/kb_article.php?ref=1770-RUSL-9566

saves may be in...

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\%Publisher%\Frogwares\The Secret of the Silver Earring\save

so they buried them deep.

Well, also thank Frogwares for keeping the information in that thread on their website, and Google for finding it.

I would have had a hard time finding that location on my own.

It used to be so easy with Windows 95/98 when there was a save folder inside the game folder. Even XP wasn't bad because the save folder would usually be in My Documents. With Vista and later, saves can be anywhere and buried in subfolders of hidden folders several layers deep. It's ridiculous.

For sure... I didn't even know this game was from Frogwares, so thanks to Jenny for looking it up!
