Didn't you have a Big Fish tech help you with updating drivers back in August? Or have a "Geek squad" do it?

You've been telling us you have to play a lot of your games windowed.
It seems like your graphics card is too old or is not strong enough to play these games.

Do you know what graphics card you have?

I thought you did take it to a repair shop.
Isn't that what you said you were going to do in ***this thread***?

If you haven't taken it to a repair shop, you probably should -- and make sure they know the problem is that you can't play these games you want to play -- and they're not particularly demanding games.

In ***this thread*** you said you have an HP model 500-217c.

Is this your computer?

If so, it comes with "integrated graphics" but has the option
for a PCI Express x16 graphics card (Gen 2.0 speed).
If it's a desktop, you can have a graphics card added (a laptop doesn't have that option).
If you have an HP 500-217c desktop, I'd recommend having a repair shop install a "real" graphics card on the computer, install the drivers for it, and check to make sure the games work with it without issue.

That is a good idea.
If the repair shop has to reinstall Windows, they may not back up everything first.
It's also a good idea to back up to more than one place. A single external hard drive may go bad, but it's less likely that two external hard drives will go bad at the same time.

Some people back up to a "cloud-based" service but whether you can do that depends on the upload speed of your Internet and how much data you have that you want to back up. Also any private information should be encrypted before uploading to a cloud service. Don't depend on a cloud service to encrypt your data.

Backing up to DVD's also depends on how much data you have, since DVD's also have limited space.
