Area ABC is 40 square feet. The length of line segment BD is 1/4 of line segment AB. The length of line segment EC is 1/3 of line segment AC. How many square feet is the shaded area CDE?

Please show your work.

Thought at first that info was missing...but no!

Triangle BCD = 1/4 area ABC = 10

Leaves triangleACD = 30

Triangle CDE = 1/3 area ACD = 10

Thassa real "math goodie"!
