Boggle Steps - 12/19/12 03:09 AM

Remember your old boggle game? The object was to form words using letters in the grid by connecting adjacent letters. Letters that are left, right, on top, below, or on a diagonal to each other are acceptable...as long as you use that letter only once when creating the word.

However, rather than using a clock to challenge you gardeners, we're going to use everyone's words and make this a team effort.

Code:
G A S
K A D
D H N

a
gad had
hands has nag
sad saga sand and
dadas gas hag sag dan
khan nada dads ad ah an
as ha x x x x x x x

I thought that's what I did headscratch

Re: Boggle Steps - 12/19/12 05:29 PM

G A S
K A D
D H N

I can't see why Cue's are not acceptable; like, "SAND":
"A" is immediately diagonal to "S"
"N" is immediately diagonal to "A"
"D" is immediately above "N"

However, I've never played this game, so...!!

How do the X's work? Like XX to HAD X?

Sorry Cue .. You were spot on and I was out to lunch (or breakfast given the time of day) oops

Your solutions and methodology are correct!

I need to drink more coffee before Gardening!!

So .. to recap ...

Cue, Flo, ManXman and Gail are correct

Denis' recap is correct .. not bad for ever playing the game

Soot needs more coffee before Gardening in the AM

Denis .. the x's just denote a word .. so first row one word, second row (of solutions) two words and so forth

think I think that covers all ..

Re: Boggle Steps - 12/20/12 03:40 PM

In case it's a word: DNA
Last name in dictionary: KAHN

These are in dictionary: dan, nada

Didn't see anything preventing 1 and 2 letter words (some twice; ad 3 times!):
a,a,ad,ad,ad,ah,an,as,as,ha

Re: Boggle Steps - 12/21/12 06:21 AM

Wow .. DNA seems to be an "out of the ordinary" abbreviation as you found in the dictionary .. so I'll take it along with your other solutions thumbsup12
