-1. The denomination of British coins in circulation which are less than a pound are 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1p (p=penny). Harry, Tom and I went into a shop recently and each made a purchase costing less than £1 (100p). The cost of each of the purchases were different. We each paid with a £1 coin and each received four coins in change -- in each case the change due could not be given in fewer than four coins; but equally if we had paid the exact price for our purchases it would have been possible for each of us to have done so with four coins, but not with fewer. The total cost of our three purchases was not only more than, but also an exact multiple of, the total amount of change that between us we received.
What did each of our purchases cost?
2. Below is a list of countries. The position of each country in the list relative to its neighbours is unchangeable, but each of the countries could be replaced by a number of others. What country could precede the first country in the list. (And for special bonus points, which country could follow the last in the list?)
Maldives, Singapore, Lithuania, Ivory Coast, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Philippines

4. You come across three people, one a truthful person, one a liar and one a normal (normals sometimes tell the truth, & sometimes lie). They make the following statements:
A. I love cats.
B. C always tells the truth.
C. A hates cats.
If you were a betting man, which one would you bet on to be the truthful person and what are the approximate odds of you winning?
Hint - if you list all 6 possible combinations, then some will be eliminated as they would be contradictory. The ones left will give you the most likely truthful person and the odds
-5 Don Puma, the host of radio station KILL's popular "Classic Rock Mondays," has been found murdered in his booth. Can you help Detective Tinear fit the facts together to catch the killer? (Feel free to Google after 24 hrs!)
i. The murder weapon was found next to Puma's body. It was the same as the one mentioned in the last verse of the Eagles classic "Hotel California." What was the murder weapon?
ii. The coroner has determined that the time of death occurred in the afternoon, at the same time as that mentioned in the first verse of the Golden Earring song "Radar Love." When did Puma die?
iii. A reliable witness overheard Puma talking to someone right before the time of death, and he called the killer by name. The killer's first name is the same as the second name mentioned in Dire Straits' "Sultans of Swing." What is the killer's first name?
iv. There is well-known Pink Floyd song that has the exact same title as a well-known Bachman-Turner Overdrive song. Detective Tinear has discovered that the first letter of the second word in the title is the same as the killer's last initial. What is the killer's last initial?
v. It turns out Puma was a photography nut, and he managed to take a picture of his killer before he died. Unfortunately, he only got a shot of the killer's eyes, which are the same color as the eyes in a song title from the 1971 album Who's Next. What color are the killer's eyes?
The suspects:
• Scott, the morning DJ, who has an extensive knife collection
• Hannah Green, director of advertising
• Mr. Harrison, promotions director, who was meeting with the station owners from 1 to 3 PM
• George York, the news director, who was meeting with the station owners from 3 to 5 PM
• Martha York, his wife, who has blue eyes
• Harry, the new security guard
• Jenny, the intern from Los Angeles, who has a license to carry a gun
• The cleaning lady, who has hazel eyes
