niteowl, that's a good guess, but not the answer. As a matter of fact, the facts have changed. I wrote this question in 2004 but it looks like they were wrong at the time. lol I've changed the question.

4. Curious, I just read an article about it. It's losing 100 yards of land every day. At the current rate, most of southern Louisiana will be under water by 2100 if something isn't done. A 50 billion dollar plan exists that will more or less keep up with replenishing the lost land over time.
