Saw this today and thought it was cute. Can you solve the puzzle?

One day, Harold cleans out a large glass pickle jar, places it on his desk and drops in a few coins. He decides that each day, he will dump his loose change into the jar and that once the jar is full, he will treat himself to a fancy steak dinner. Three months later, a blind man named Richard visits Harold’s office for the first time. Harold tells Richard about the coin jar he keeps on his desk. The blind man carefully picks up the jar, shakes it once and names the exact amount of change in the jar. “Incredible!” exclaims Harold. He shakes the blind man’s hand and invites him to join him for a steak dinner once the jar is completely full of coins. About how long will it be until then?

This is likely totally wrong, but I would say three months. The only way Richard would know the exact amount of change is if the jar was empty. so Harold had just gone to dinner on a previously full jar that was now empty.

How about when the blind man shakes the bottle it breaks and empties. Therefore nothing in the bottle and never will be. So, no meal ever? lol wave

Was Harold perhaps a doctor or lawyer? Why was a blind man coming
to his office in the first place? Could that be a clue? Is this
a pun? just thinking lol crazy

I like DocPaul's thinking, although the jar could have a single coin.

DocPaul's answer is correct! You should get a cookie, or something, but there aren't any so here's a burger! burger

The part that threw me, at first, was that, after Richard shakes the jar and guesses the correct amount in the jar, Harold says "Incredible". I guess I just didn't think that guess warranted such a response. razz
