Change the four letter words on the left to the five letter words on the right by giving and taking letters. Add one letter to the word in the START column to form a five letter word. Then subtract a letter from that word to form a new four letter word. Next, add a letter to that four letter word to form a new five letter word. Take away a letter from that five letter word to form a new four letter word. Finally, add a letter to that four letter word that will make the five letter word in the FINISH column.
Warning: The answer for #9 contains an archaic spelling of a word. Well, it's still used in crossword puzzles.
Solving tips: Find the common, and uncommon letters, between the starting word and the ending word. When a five letter word is created, include one of the uncommon letters from the ending word. When a four letter word is created, remove an uncommon letter from the starting word.
