"Yeah, my folks are here but they're a little tied up right now. They've been hollerin' about a smattering of litter on the floor and something about a frayed table leg, which I know nothin' about. Honest, I'll swear on that book you have there!"

No, no, I don't need to confess.
I swear I know nothing of the whereabouts of the fiddle

"Purchase a Bible? Um, no thanks. We just stayed at a hotel, and we, um, sort of, like, have one now."

"Yes, I know there are no references to talking cats in the Bible. I'm not a cat. I'm a donkey, Balaam's donkey."

First off, thanks to Lex for the great picture this week.
There were many good entries, but the one I thought fit the
picture best was the funny one-liner from CanukDenis,

Geehova witnessed what? Sorry, I'm a CATholic!

Good stuff, Denis! lol bravo

Congratulations to Denis (despite not adding "...and I know my CAThecism"): I got here too late and thought I recognised that picture. wave12

I always found that particular line a good and reasonably polite deterrent for religious doorsteppers, but my grandfather used to go one better in his later years (no doubt looking for company and/or an audience) and invite them in for very lengthy debate: once word got around he did not see them so often!

Thanks CC.

Lex, I was brought up on a farm. I remember one time
(in the late 50's) being at Uncle Albert's farm (Remi
was there too) helping him with wheat thrashing.

A Saintly-faced salesman showed up with a valise of
mini-bibles and rosaries. Uncle Albert was in a bad
mood...thrasher had broken down and he was trying to
fix it...so (to keep this short) he told him:
"get out of here...we don't have time to pray"!!
