Biggest shock was I only got as far as the end of the train puzzle-the hour just flew by. Puzzles are tricky. Enjoyed the previous ones so this one is on my list.....

I enjoyed the demo, but I'm reading that the game is a bit short for a CE, so I will wait for the standard version.

We do have another CE being released this week on Big Fish, though, so I am not out of the woods yet in terms of CE temptation for April. grin

The previous Dream Chronicles game (Chosen Child) had the shortest bonus play I've ever seen -- about 10 minutes worth. So I'm waiting to see how long the bonus play is on this one.

I played the air one, standard version. Tried demo of one of the earlier games, didn't like it. I'll try the standard version of this one when its available.

Hi, Marian!

I'm waiting for the SE for the same reason, and then I can use either a Club credit or punch card credit and it won't cost me a dime lol . I enjoyed the demo and was almost gonna buy it, but I checked out the BFG forum first and many posters were extremely disappointed in the length of the game and bonus chapter.

I wish I could buy DC Chosen Child and DC Book of Water in a brick and mortar store! I loved the first 2!

Today BFG has an update fixing this glitch. but if I don't have to update I won't. can anyone tell me if we do update will we lose all our save games?

I hate starting over. So if your like me and computer kicked you out if when your at the toyshop and do the train tracks assembly first, computer crashes to desktop here is a suggestion that works.

I did not do the train tracks first, someone else gave this suggestion at BF and I am just proof it works also. In the toy shop assemble the train 1st than you go to the train station and back out Do Not put down the train at the train station.

In the room will be all the train tracks scattered so pick up 100 % of them and go back to train station, place them. Then put your train on the track. It works I am proof postive at least for some of us it works. I hope I won't have to update the game so going to continue as I am.

Hope this helps someone and thanks to the origional person that discovered this.

Here's a quote from the mod on the Big Fish forums who posted about the update that fixes the train glitch:

Quote:
For PC players the Flash prompt that is presented before launching the game can end up behind other windows, so please take a look for this if you're having any trouble launching. If trouble persists with the new build, it may also be necessary to start from the beginning with a new player profile.

Hopefully you won't have any more problems and won't need to start the game over. And thank you for posting the workaround for the train glitch. wave

I had the same problem with the train. I have done it the other way round, by starting again, managed to go around the track, got the crystal, and lo and behold it has crashed again I am going to ask for a refund on this game because it is so annoying. Sam

Played a little of the demo and was putting the train together and the game crashed twice. Just uninstalled it. To many other games to play. Not going to fight with this one.

I kjos,
Mine crashed too and I tried again with a new profile as BF suggested and it froze in the same place. I got a refund. I'll get the SE later when it comes out.
I was so looking forward to the game. frown I love this series.

I never had any of the train glitches but I finished the game in 3 1/2 hours and that included the bonus section. It was an excellent addition to the series though.

Good to know you thought the game was worthwhile, Cathy. smile It does sound a bit short for a CE, though. wave

How much of the 3 1/2 hours was the game and how much was the bonus section? Was the bonus section extremely short, like it was in Book of Air? Did it add anything to the story?

Well in my case I finished the bonus section in about a 1/2 hour to 35 minutes. There was no hints or a diary in it, because you are playing as a human. Those things were just for a fairy type person. I guess it added a bit to the story except it was a prelude to the game. I don't know if I'm explaining it right. I really enjoyed the game though and it looked very nice. Hope that helps a bit Jenny.

Cathy bravo

I wasn't overly impressed with the bonus play. I bought the CE because, according to the developer, the bonus play was supposed to add an hour of game time. I don't think it was an hour but I didn't time it. In the bonus section, you play as Faye, Lyra's mother. All those times that you hear Lyra talk about her visions of her mother tie into it. You go to all the same places and do what Lyra pointed out that her mother had done.

The drawback is that the hint system only works for those with fairy blood and Faye is human, so you're on your own. I ran into a problem trying to find an item in Barge City. It was very small and I had even resorted to the walkthrough for help. I still couldn't find it and thought I'd have to just quit the game. With a little more patience, I tried again and was successful. But, I did notice on the BF forums that others had the same trouble I did and weren't very happy with the bonus content. duh

The best math you can learn is how to calculate the future cost of current decisions.

After having played the prior installments and enjoying them,
I purchased the CE w/o even blinking.
Boy was I ever disappointed. cry
The game was short, the story line....well there wasn't much of one....
Made we wonder if this was a rush job,
and didn't seem to be the work of the same developers at all.
