Thinking about your next holiday destination? How about a trip to the junkyard? A planet full of trash? That’s right – this is where Daedalic Entertainment’s new PC adventure gaming masterpiece will be taking you – to the wonderful trash planet of Deponia.

Now, for everybody who still doesn’t fancy an unusual location, here’s your chance to take a short trip and get a first glimpse of what’s awaiting you: Today, Daedalic and publisher Lace Mamba Global release a free public demo version of Deponia, that allows you to test-dive into the hilarious adventure: the approximately 700 MB sized demo features scenes of the first chapter of the game and offers between 30 and 45 minutes of gameplay time. Take a look and see how much anti-hero Rufus needs your help, before the full game hits the retail shelves throughout the UK and Ireland this Friday, June 29th, 2012.

Deponia is the next big adventure game release by Daedalic Entertainment, creators of award-winning genre highlights like A New Beginning and The Whispered World, brought to life with detailed hand-painted backgrounds in widescreen format and top-quality cartoon animation.

The game is a fast-paced comedy of errors and one of the most unusual love stories in gaming history. The twist-filled story takes its off-beat characters all over trash planet Deponia, a unique game world in the style of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening. From Kuvaq, an improvised village built inside a giant trash heap, to the swimming black market and the dark corners of the elevated planetary railways.

Rufus, one of the playable main characters, is not a pleasant guy. Ill-tempered and entirely too convinced of his own greatness, he lives at the edge of a small settlement somewhere in the most remote sector of the garbage-covered planet Deponia. He dreams of a better life in the floating cities of wealth and beauty high above the planet surface. When the angelic Goal falls from these privileged spheres down into a neighbouring trash heap, Rufus sees his chance. He decides to bring the unconscious beauty back to her home. Only a vague hope of making it off Deponia at first, he soon formulates an unscrupulous plan, as he learns that he is a dead ringer for Goal’s upper-class husband. The planned handover is only the beginning of a wild chase across Deponia full of twists, turns and mystifying mix-ups…

Deponia received the highest praise from the press after its release in Germany. Now, the first reviews for the English version are coming in – and the praise continues: The online magazine GamingLives, for example, rated the game 9 out of 10, stating: “Daedalic have thumped it into the heart of their own genre, delivering a well-rounded, blissful kick of addictive lushness that now begs for a sequel. Offering a quirky, inventive setting, painted in rich detail in the developer’s typically beautiful hand-drawn cartoony art style, Deponia is a joy to look at as much as play.”

Deponia is scheduled to arrive on retail shelves throughout the UK and Ireland on June 29th, 2012. The retail edition includes the full game as well as a poster and the original soundtrack on CD.

At this very moment I found the english demo only available HERE , but I'm sure in the next hours there will be more sites to download from.
More info's about Deponia at the Official Website, and don't forget to read our Gremlin First Look at Deponia.

I really want to download this, but when I click on the link it says: By installing this toolbar you agree to the terms of service.

I don't want another stinking toolbar! Is there a site to download this that I won't get another add-on?

Are you clicking on the right link? The long bar below the text?

I just did it, not that I'm interested in the demo, but when I clicked on it all I got was the usual Run/Save option.

Thanks Carla!
(if anyone wants to try the demo, there are two download links, choose the one at the bottom of the page to just get the demo download without the toolbar)
