Cazzie, I haven't played this but I'm sure we have members who have. Hopefully, they will be by soon.

I've played the game and loved it. There are definitely a few bugs, but nothing that stopped my from playing it.

I have it on a disk...

From what I've read about it by people who bought the disc version, it has online activation with a single-use code. I'd had some interest in the game since I liked the first Alice, but I refuse to buy Madness Returns with those sort of restrictions.

I saw it on Steam....not that I'm thrilled about that. Might wait until it's "bargain bin". Actually just saw it on Amazon as Used with activation key. How can that be if it's a one-time activation?

I've installed it 4 times due to different circumstances, once to see how it worked on Windows 8. Never any problems with activation and definitely not single use.

I don't see how that lets you transfer a key to another computer unless they decided to allow more than one code use. I haven't played that Dragon Age 2 game they mention as having the same DRM.

Interesting reading... I got my CD version from Amazon. Because I don't have it on this last installation of my Windows 7 on a solid state drive with a regular drive for data, I just installed it again. This makes 5 times I've installed the game including the time I installed on my Windows 8. I simply entered the registration key like in any other game and there were no issues at all.

It's one of the best games I've played in a long time.

I heard there were a couple of game-stoppers and no fix....

The one I remember was when I mapped the key to use the umbrella to a different one from the default, it wouldn't work. It seems to me there was another minor one, but I can't remember what it was. I definitely didn't run into anything that was a game-stopper.

Draclvr it stopping it for me. Was there a workaround?

I never had the game stop working for me at all. Not sure what happened here. Like Ana says, if the forums don't help, maybe Inland and Jenny can help you down in Glitches.

It doesn't "stop". There are parts where I think you really need the umbrella. But I think I fixed it. Thanks

Oh, you mean you got the umbrella glitch. The only way I could get it to work was to leave the default key binding for the umbrella.

It never saves!!!!!!!!!!
I get through a hard part, taking 2 nights only to be thrown all the way back to the beginning of the seesion. Seriously? And the controls are way buggy.

That frustrates me to no end about some of these games. These game developers seem to think I have unlimited time to simply play for hours to get to one of their "save points." Alice is definitely one of them. Fortunately, it saves pretty often, but I want to get through a particularly difficult part and save it so I don't have to go through it again. There is one sequence where the game switches to 2D and you have to used the WASD keys to control Alice which she jumps to platforms where there are big heavy hammers dropping down. It's all a matter of the most perfect timing and control and you breath a sigh of relief when you finally get through. But can I save right there so I don't have to go through another hour of trying to get through this 30 second sequence? NO!

I totally agree with you and there are so many games that do this.

Drac, I agree. If I want to save every 60 seconds that should be up to me.
