Carol Reed, The Final Chapter by MDNA Games Once again, MDNA Games has provided many hours of engaging entertainment with still shots of places in Norrköping, Sweden, peppered with challenging tasks and clever puzzles with "The Final Chapter" that is to be released Jan 1, 2026. I'm so happy to find out that it is not the last chapter for MDNA games and that Carol Reed mysteries will continue. Playing this game with photographed scenes is a delightfully refreshing aspect of following the path of Carol Reed. I find it interesting that MDNA games has kept current with updated technology in the story line that includes cell phones, a robot vacuum and a key fob for the car. The Final Chapter maintains the charm of their previous games with a very helpful tutorial and a journal of hints that keep players from getting too frustrated to continue their journey and is in English. One thing that I really like about Carol Reed games is that the navigation points show up easily by either moving the mouse for an arrow to show up or by tapping the space bar which also shows hot spots for things that might be clues or tools. One thing I must add is that a player must be VERY thorough to check all possible travel points. Playing slowly with patience is a plus. This mystery takes us to various places to discover clues as Carol Reed is asked to find an old man who is the author of a book and has not reported in to his publisher as planned. The mystery darkens when we find hidden notes left by the author who seems either paranoid or in some kind of danger. There is a game map system and hint system that is very helpful to understand where you are going and where you have been and the cursor will change when you hover over an active area. Carol searches for the old author at a race track, an old stable, as well as going to an encampment where she finds stolen jewelry which deepens the mystery. I have been a fan of Carol Reed and her adventures since Mikael gave me the opportunity to beta test his first edition "Remedy," and now here we are at Episode #21 that I am honored to write a review for GameBoomers. MDNA mysteries have remained a favorite for me from previous editions, so perhaps I'm a little biased, and maybe since I'm part Swedish, but as another indie game maker, I think it's safe to say that you'll find that this game is a winner that will give you many hours of engaged gaming. You will be engrossed with the story that will take you to many sites that give you a taste of Swedish life. At the same time you will be searching for clues to solve this point and click mystery. I'm adding it to my favorites. Without letting out a spoiler I will just say that GameBoomers may find an "Easter Egg" somewhere in the game. Happy gaming!
