The designs on the knight's shield closely resemble those on the Coats of Arms on the manuscript. Each Coat of Arms is divided into four quadrants. The background colour of each quadrant is either gold, blue, red or white and the design is made up of either one, two or three symbols.

The corresponding quadrants of the three visible Coats of Arms follow a pattern, so by following the pattern you can work out each of the quadrants on the fourth (hidden) Coat of Arms.

The quadrants of the fourth (hidden) Coat of Arms correspond with the background colours and the 'number of symbols' used to complete the patterns.

Examine all the tumblers on the knight's shield to find those that correspond with the required designs.
