I enjoyed it too, especially the non-edited one.

There was a UK/PEGI release after the original release that was uncut. The US version is cut.

I just searched ebay, amazon, steam etc and they are all the US versions. Only one Italian version on ebay. You may try the trading post?

Sorry guys,

Only the Adventure Shop had the rights to distribute the UK version in DL form only.

Since they shut down, I do not think any other company signed for the rights.

The German and Italian versions were also uncut, except being completely localized (voice and text) so if you are fluent in those languages it would work - otherwise not so much.

And really nice to hear how much you enjoyed the game, Robert smile

Thanks for clarifying, Laura. I wish there was somewhere we could get the uncut version in English again - maybe in the future?

Yeah

But it is amazing and makes a lot of things worthwhile, that after all this time, people are still discovering Culpa and enjoying it.

There is a used one on eBay UK, pretty sure it’s the uncut version for a few dollars but then of course there’s the postage.

Adventure Shop shut down?

Still here: Adventure Shop

Not unless you are talking about UK.

I'll panic if Adventure Shop shuts down, I have games purchased from them, I understand I could re-download the games from Adventure Shop anytime I want, so it is like my backup at Adventure Shop. The other thing to worry about is the license key for the games from Adventure Shop, will the license key still work if Adventure Shop shuts down?

I wish my games can be transferred to Steam, I'll cross over to them as they don't seems to shut down any time soon..

If you notice roll, there are no new games listed on there. They are no longer in business. They also sadly did not pay their royalties to the developers either. Your games are likely still there but you can't buy new.

Glad you enjoyed the game, robert. It's one of my favorites, and it's a shame there won't be a sequel. At least we still have the original to enjoy. thumbsup

So, what happens when all activations are used up with our Adventure Shop games? We won't be able to play them anymore? frown This is the reason I prefer to buy my games DRM free. Luckily, I don't have too many games there, but I do have the uncut version of Culpa. It still works for now, but I'm not sure if the activations will work on any future computers.

There is really only one important missing scene, the second nightmare, which I think adds an interesting look into Phoenix's psyche. Maybe I'll buy the full version of FRAPS to record the missing scene at some point. Unless someone knows of a free program that could be used to record games? smile

I haven't bought from them for a while. Sometimes Amazon has better deals. I just login to their site and yes, I can see my games. If they are no longer in business, I think the site will go down one day, since there are operating costs for running the website. When it does shut down, I hope I can still install and activate the games that I previously bought. I normally uninstall a game when I finished playing.

Something I like to know too, I should have bought all my games from a big company like Amazon. Some of my favourite games are with Adventure Shop frown , eg Machinarium, Secret Files etc.

Is Steam a reputable/big company? Are they DRM free?

Roll, Steam is a reputable company, but they are not DRM free, as you need to have their client installed in order to play their games. On the positive side, they don't have limited activations, and you can even download your games on other computers or stream from another computer in order to play them. So there are a lot of advantages there. GOG is my first choice, however, as their games are all DRM free, and you can make your own back up copies for future use. So I'd check them out, if that's what you'd prefer. smile

Steam is my favorite choice, it's very easy to use. The fact that it's not DRM free doesn't bother me any since I doubt they are going anywhere. They are quite popular.

Thanks for the info on GOG. They looked good because they are DRM free. I could download and keep a copy for backup with no worries about activation in future. Will consider them for next purchase.

Personally, I don't like installing software unnecessarily. So do not like to install a Steam client in order to play their games. I will have to decide if I want to install the client or go else where.

Good to know Steam is not going anywhere. Since they sell all genres, including action, RPG, etc, they have a larger customer base and thus will be able to stay in business.
