Did you get it to work Chief? I have moved into the game further. I am hoping I am not near the end because I am loving this.

Yes, I got the lift to work.

Know I'm stuck with the light panels, not fully understanding the drawing up the lift.

That is where I have been stuck for awhile as well Chief! I am completely missing what I need to do with those panels. I hope you figure it out. As for me I think I need a hint smile.

What a wonderful FREE game this is!

Have you green lit any of the lights on the panel and did you read what jctl had mentioned in a previous post here about the light panels?

My worst fears have arrived, I have finished the game and will surely miss playing this wonderful adventure. I will help anyone if I can with hints.

I just have 1 green light left and can't figure out how to get to it past the rubble. Also the very first puzzle the clown type face I did not get. Guess it is nothing important as I am pretty far in the game. This is the first time looking for hints.

Hello Jeffery

You don't necessarily need to solve the clown rock face at the beginning of the game but its hard to imagine one solving the stone panel to extend the bridge without it. But since you are already past this if you want to go back and solve it for grins then
Click to reveal..
the clues are staring you in the face

As far as the light panel is concerned
Click to reveal..
Its not necessary to light up the the eighth light in fact the solution is not to light them all but which ones should and should not be lit is your next quest

Greyfuss; I assume that the colors to which you referred earlier are on the four paintings which I hung in the art room. If so, I got them up correctly because I found the diary and they can't be moved. What I DON'T see is any connection between those colors and the six(?) organ colors? What am I missing? Do I need to pay six, or 12 or more notes?

Those are not the pictures for the color code. It is on the large 5 panel mural in the music room.

What is going on with the big wheel in the darkened tunnel after the bridge over the water?

My pillars do not seem to match the given solution here, and neither is accepted by the game as correct.
My pillar 1 matches, and worked for me. But my pillar 2 is clearly 8,7,2. I am not sure if it is entered top to bottom or inner-out, but I tried both and no dice.

By solution do you mean the 8 code solution to the puzzle I've provided in a previous post?

PS: I've managed to solve the puzzle without following the pillars clues, so I don't know how they work.

Yes
What do you mean?, you just tried random codes until they worked?

Epiphany: I must be entering them wrong. The first one worked as I picked the top vertical position as the code entering position. But What I have to do is line up the code with the light it is supposed to light up.

Strange, if you're right then it means the puzzle solution varies...

I've solved it real fast - it took me a bit more time because I didn't wrote the first 2 codes I found while just trying to understand how the puzzle worked!

After finding 3 codes and writing them down top to bottom I noticed the fact that the digits didn't repeat on each circle and used this simple assumption to get the rest of the codes - it was real easy since you're not just trying random numbers anymore.

The solution does not change. I solved it going through all the combinations until it worked, the only puzzle I really had no clue how I got the right answer until I read all the posts. If you look at all the previous posts regarding this puzzle, it all makes sense. 1. look at the group of 4 paintings closely and what do you see? 2. all the numbers were right for the combinations in a previous post, it is just where you line them up. 3. where the combinations were obtained is correct. 2 numbers needed trial and error due to destruction causing missing numbers. All the clues are there in game as pointed out to me in a previous nudge, it's just how you look at it. Best advice I received and made me look at everything differently. If anyone needs further help just let me know.

This is truly a great game thinking and puzzle solving wise. It is nice, refreshing and challenging. I can't remember the last time since Myst and Riven I had to put this much effort in thinking for a game. Hats off to the development team and look forward to more if it is the plans. I have the last puzzle (I think) to go.

I am stuck and a bit befuddled. I found the big, five-paneled painting over the green couch in the music room, but still see no connection between it and the organ key colors. If I'm supposed to reorder the panels, they don't seem move-able. Have I missed a trigger?

Also, (And this has no effect on gameplay...I think) I'm sure I have the four pictures in the correct position in the art room and have solved the big circle and thereby found what I needed for the organ. I also hung the other three unnecessary pictures on the three spots on the two walls in the art room. Interestingly, every time I quit and come back later, it seems that little D'ni elves take the those three pictures back off the wall. (The four on the front wall are untouched.) I'm sure it means nothing, but I find it cool and a bit eerie.

As far as the 5 panel painting over the couch...
Click to reveal..
there is a group of levers to the right of the organ.

As far as the 3 paintings hung around the art room...
Click to reveal..
they are not necessary.

OK, I understand how to enter JCTL's solution, but I am still unsure how you get from the codes given on he pillars to that.

Pillar Codes:
Click to reveal..

[list]
[1](1,5,5)
[2](8,7,3)
[3](5,*,3)
[4](2,6,*)
[5](4,3,1)
[6](2,7,*)
[7](6,*,8)
[8](2,8,6)

So while 8,7,3 is listed as the second code in game you are supposed to enter it into the 5th location. Where the topmost position is 1 and you go around clockwise and position 5 is the direct bottom. I do not see any obvious pattern, it looks like the pillar number is completely unrelated to how you enter that pillars code.

Have you lit up all the white lights except the fifth position?
Click to reveal..
You don't have to do them in any order and once you have lit one it stays lit.

It is not that I cannot figure out how to light up position 5, it is that I cannot figure out how to use any of the pillar codes other than position 1. In any way other than randomly trying them in different positions.

For the people not being able to enter the bedroom inside the room close to one of the stone stairs side:

Click to reveal..
There's a hotspot on the candlestick light near the room entrance.

For the people not being able to move the control placed on the point where the 2 stone stair paths join:

Click to reveal..
Use the switch near the shelf placed inside the room with a big door (the one close to the big wheel with numbers puzzle).

Well then you are on your way with those lit. I am actually like jctl,
Click to reveal..
I never got any clues from the pillars, I deduced the codes using my tried and true combination decipher. Three digit combination characters are the easiest codes to find. And in this case because the were numerous combinations with each turn of the wheel made it easier. Like jctl, I too figured out after getting a few lights lit that the numbers 1 thru 8 do not repeat on the wheel for each light. For example if you got the lights lit for 1 - & 5 those individual numbers will not be repeated in that position for any other lite. If you are looking for a correlation to the clues on the pillars I can't help you with that as I didn't use them, sorry.

The best way I can explain is give the solution, so be forewarned before you look

Click to reveal..
Pillars: The D'ni number is at the top (D'ni number 1)corresponds to 551. The way the numbers on read on the pillars is around the pillar. where you see the D'ni number at the top the number below that is the middle number in the combinations. Picture: after you assembled the picture in the painting room, use the point where all 4 meet as the "center". As you look on the picture you see the D'ni numbers, but they are not in numerical order. In one of the pictures, the D'ni number 6 is where it should be as it looks like the combination wheel lights, which is telling you where the 6th combination should be entered. They D'ni numbers go around the picture clockwise using the center where they meet correspond to the position of the lights on the outer border of the combination wheel. Going around clockwise starting from the top D'ni numbers 1, 3, 4, 8, 2, 6, 5, 7. Now combine those with the D'ni numbers on the pillars and the corresponding combination code. You have to line the combination numbers up under the corresponding lights, for simplicity sake I will go clockwise starting from the top. 1 (551), 3 (345), 4 (462), 8 (286), 2 (873) 6 (727), 5 (134) 7 (618). For 4 and 7 it is trial and error due to the pillar being destroyed with one of the numbers.
Great puzzle
