Right at the end of Lighthouse, I cannot wake up Dr Crick.

I have got rid of the Dark thingy and the antenna for the portal is raised, I have shocked Dr Crick three times, but cannot wake him up. I have tried leaving the top cap on his head, and then leaving it in place but neither works out.

I last played this game in 1999 so maybe I have forgotten something which I should have done, but neither of the walkthroughs seems to help.

Although it doesn't really matter as I have all but completed the game, it is an irritation that I cannot finish.

Have you checked the UHS hints here? Maybe that would help determine what you are missing.

Yes, I have the blueprint.

I have tried many different ways but I still cannot raise Crick.
I wonder if it is because I cannot get close enough to him to wake him? It seems that in this game - more often that not - I have to point the shorter arrow to activate something, but I do not seem to be able to get this shorter arrow activated so that I could move in close enough to rouse him.

Ah, well. These little things are sent to try us.

If I recall, the portal needs to be opened. The Dark Being was in the process of opening it before you captured him.
If you capture him early and he didn't complete the steps to open the portal, you need to do that. Then I think it is possible to get to the doctor.
Hope this is helpful. I'm running on verrry long term memories here. laugh

frown Sorry you can't wake him up. I do vaguely remember that gamers have problem with finding the correct spot to click on.

I have had the portal open during several of my unsuccessful forays, so I guess that MaG is right that I haven't managed to find the spot.

dear sir.
i try to help, you must follow evrything, you must have amenda
with you,as soon as you open the monsters door, you must watch
when you see that he wants to go to the very right side,to the large lever, shoot him with the cannon, then enter, you will
have to pull the large lever,in order to open the portal, now
hurry up,go to the small box on the floor, break it with the hammer, get the blueprints, the man sleeps in a chair, but in front,of it is a control panel, you must be realy close to it
-pull the far left lever down,to lower the cap,on his head.
-put the left breaker switch,in the up position.
-put the right breaker switch, down position.
-adjust the dial,to 2 o'clock.
now you will see,a lighted wave like thing,on the display.
-pull the right hand lever down,3 times, this wakes him up.
-click on krick himself,3 times, untill he starts to complain.
-give him amanda,he will ask for the blueprints, give them to him,he gows trough the portal, follow him.
the best thing,before you enter,SAVE GAME,experience is a lot
samuel.

Yes, thanks Samuel and anyone else who helped.

Dr. Crick was a miserable old git, to my mind.
I save his life and his squalling infant, and he says 'you should go now'.

Next time, I will use the gun on him. That'll make his eyes smart.
