I got a new kitty! I wasn't planning on getting one so soon after losing Venus, but Jupiter has been lonely, so I figured sooner was better than later. Of course, he's a bit of a bully even though he's tiny (,) so it's going to take some time before they can be left alone together with no supervision.

It is appropriate, however, as she generally has a lot to say. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the vertical pictures any smaller without them being too small, so there is a bit of fuzziness there. You can click on them for a clearer image, though they will display sideways. Oh, well. Hope you like the pictures, anyway.

Beautiful kitty - I am sure that she and Jupiter will come to an arrangement before too long - and end up liking one another a lot more.

She's lovely venus, and I am glad you opened your heart to another kitty. They never replace one, it's impossible, but they bring their own joys.

Thanks, Marian. I have hope, as it actually took Jupiter a lot longer to adjust to Venus. He doesn't seem to be fighting with Saga as much, though when they do fight, they don't mess around.

Thanks, Ana. No one's ever going to replace Venus. She was an exceptional kitty. Saga is terrific so far, of course, but very different. She's actually more like Jupiter overall. I really lucked out with all three kitties.

Thanks, Draclvr. Actually, she had just been spayed a few days before those pictures were taken. She got to the shelter in the beginning of March, and I believe she was spayed on the same day. That's why that part of her fur is shaved, but it's grown in quite a bit now. I just happened to pick her up a few days after she'd arrived, so she didn't have to be in there long at all.

When I got a kitty companion for my male cat, a couple of weeks after that I walked into my living room and he was trying to put her head in his mouth. I am only laughing now because he wasn't hurting her (thank goodness) but rather showing her who was boss. It was definitely more than a little alarming at the time, to say the least. But a short while after that, they were cuddling - and were best friends from then on.

@Marian, Wow, I would have been alarmed, too! Glad to know it all worked out in the end. I was actually prepared for this, because Jupiter's always been a bully, even though he prefers to have another cat around. He isn't behaving as badly as I'd anticipated, though, or at least he's not doing it as often, so that's a good sign.

Oh, so happy she didn't have to be at the shelter very long. Now she will have a long and happy life with you and Jupiter!

OMG, I can't get over this. A few years ago a stray cat just like that one showed up at our house. She was ours for a day, then she went home. Beautiful little personality though. We called her Foxy LeRue, at first when we seen her we thought she was a fox. The resemblance is unreal. Here's a pic. I hope both kitties can get along together, so sorry for your loss

No Venus, we never got another kitty, it was too painful when MoMo went. It's too hard on hubby and I to get another pet. Sometimes I would like to get another animal but it's not in the cards I'm afraid
