I just got this game in the mail this morning and I am having some small problems. I got it installed ok and when the train stopped, everything is black. Is there a way to lighten things up a bit? Will I always be inside this cave or will I see some daylight? I liked Rhem because it was outside most of the time and I could see where I was going. Well, I got as far as to turn right and pickup something by the window. Now, what do I do and where should I go?

Turn round and swipe the card to unlock the door.

And the whole game is underground - that's why it's called: The Cave!

The only thing I can think of is to adjust your monitor. Most have a little symbol that looks like a little sun.Turn that up!

Grampa, the game shouldn't be all black. It is a cave but the beginning is definitely lit.

You may need to upgrade your video driver? Or try reinstalling the game. You could have gotten a bad install. If that doesn't help you, you can go to GotGame to see if they have the solution and/or put your problem into the Glitches section.

Good Luck!
Linda

Thanks everyone. I got the game to work and now I have a BIG problem. I went to the Water-walkway cavern area. I turned left to go to the Moon room and rollup door. I pulled the lever to open the door. I went left and saw the moon picture and pressed the button. I turned around and at the oval mechanism, I pressed that red button and heard something open. Then I exited this cavern and went to the area where I see the manhole. I turned right and followed the track to the end, turned right to the metal door. According to the WT, I should be at the Hydroelectric-water pipes area. I can't get this metal door to open as there isn't any red button anywhere or any window. Am I in the wrong location???

Now here is my next problem. I made it to the tower area and then to the blue domed room. I looked at the 4 squares panel door and then went to lower the elevator. Looking up to the bottom of this elevator, it is very dark and my eyes can't make out the numbers very well. Returned to the 4 squares panel but I don't know which button to click on first. I am following MaG's WT and can barely make out 3,1,6,4. Any help will be appreciated.

Look at the wt for the numbers on the square to press on the panel.

Top Left (TL) - 5,3
Top right (TR)- 1,8
Bottom left (BL)- 7,6
Bottom right (BR) - 4,2

So press:
TR, BR, TL, BR, TL, BL, BL, TR

MaG-This sounds confusing to me. What square are you talking about? Is it the one under the elevator which I can't make out?

On the wt and the post above are the numbers seen at the bottom of the elevator.

Top Left (TL) square - 5,3
Top right (TR) square - 1,8
Bottom left (BL)square - 7,6
Bottom right (BR) square - 4,2

Those are then the clues on what squares are to be pressed on the 4 square panels in order (1-8).

TR, BR, TL, BR, TL, BL, BL, TR

Ok, I am now at room E in the mirror maze area. I have tried to comprehend the WT and wandering around in the side halls. I can't locate any letters outside of the various openings on either side. When I press the red button the clock hand moves faster than I can remember(I am over 65 yrs of age). Can you please help me get thru this problem I am having?

At Room E:
You will see a structure-separate room at the center.
This room has 3 openings on both sides, total of 6.
These openings have laser barriers on all of them.
Enter through any of the openings, pass the laser barrier.
Once inside this room with 6 openings, close to each opening from inside - see that there are letters by the openings.
Remember to write down those letters and see which letters go with what opening.

Now, press the red button close to one of the openings. The clock on the far wall will move and point to 7 numbers. Remember those numbers. After the sequence, it opens the cabinet inside the other room but will close again.

You need to know the letters that are correlated to those numbers seen on the clock.
The clue here is at the underground passage that has letters by the wall seen in the decorated hall travels of yours.
Once you have correlated the clock numbers to the letters - time for you to do the puzzle here.

Exit out of this room through the opening of the first letter, enter the room through the opening of the second letter, etc....
If correctly done - the cabinet inside the next room will stay open and you can get the second blue fragment.

Ok MaG- You are saying that once inside the structure, I will have access to the 6 openings and the look thru hole at the other end? I will attempt your tactic and let you know what happens.

MaG- Here is my setup. I pushed the red button and got the following clock positions: 10,9,1,11,2,3 and 12. The left side of this room has: X at bottom, L at middle and U at top. The right side has: Z at bottom, N at middle and H at the top. The 1st clock position tells me to exit at Z and the 2nd to enter at X. Now I am thoroughly confused as to what to do. I went out at L and in at H. I went out at N and in at U. Then when I went thru C, the cover slammed shut. Which door should I have used to exit at the 3rd position?

10 - Exit out of the room from opening Z.
9 - Enter back to room through X.
1 - Exit out of the room from opening L.
11 - Enter back to room through H.
2 - Exit out of the room from opening N.
3 - Enter back to room through U.
12 - Enter the small area at end of the room to the cabinet and take the item. luck

MaG- I guess that you didn't read what I had written above. I did all those steps and when I got to the small area at the end, the cover slammed shut. Maybe if I hit the red button again and try a different sequence, I might be able to get the item.

I did read it when I posted. I think that you might have not gone in-out the correct openings.

How did the new sequence go?
Also check and make a drawing of your openings and the letters that corresponds to it. That might be the problem. I did it during my gameplay. You are doing the procedure correctly but might be turned around a bit.

I haven't yet tried the new sequence. I have a drawing made of the openings with the correct letters. I think that this time when I first enter the hall, I will do it thru U and then push the red button. I will let you know what happens;good or bad.

Double check the letters that you have on the doors. They are I think random also. My letters and Graha's letters are different from yours. luck

MaG-Does it make any difference as to what I have in my inventory? At present I have the following: Key,1st fragment,Safety Device and white card with red stripes. BTW, I started over and got a different set of numbers. I didn't know that the doors would change letters. I will check on this. My new set of numbers are:11,9,2,10,1,3 and 12. I will let you know the result of this confusing mess.

No, the inventory really doesn't matter. You can do things as long as the clues are there. Hope you get through.

I guess that I will have to give up. In the WT they mention correlating the letters. I don't know what this means. The clock position graph shows: 1:00 C to L
2:00 reversed N to N
3:00 U to U
9:00 X with line above to X
10:00 X with line at right to Z
11:00 N to H
12:00 Z to C
The letters on the doors are not changing and I have tried this puzzle 4 times with no luck at all.

You begin inside the building and you will end up going through the 'C' room to get the fragment.

This means you will go out through 3 of the side doors and come in the other 3.

The letters on the doors do not change.

The clock positions give you the order you need to go through the doors:

1-L, 2-N, 3-U, 9-X, 10-Z, 11-H, 12-C.

Press the button, get the sequence and then go out, in, out, in, out, in and finish as the 'C' door.

Hope this helps.

Hello MaG- Well, here I am at another mind boggling puzzle. I am in the left room of the blue domed room which has a panel on the right, a panel on the left and a red button with a box in the middle. When I went to the ball-lights puzzle and pressed the red button, the ball came down-left,left and right and turned red. According to the drawing I made, the gamers button should be number 9. Looking at your WT, it shows the right panel with numbers on both sides but I can't make them out to write them down correctly. Anyway, I went to the right panel and pressed this sequence: 2,8,3,4,6,1,7,5. You show numbers on both sides of this panel. Then I went to the other side and entered number 9 and went to the middle panel and pushed the red button. As you know it wouldn't open for me. What did I do wrong here?

Hi Grandpa68,

The panel on the right has the same symbols as those on the roof of the Blue Dome. The number allocated to each of these symbols you get from the sequencer in the Glass Maze.

This image gives the order you need to press the buttons: right panel . As you press each button, the indicator on the left will rise to 8.

You were correct about the other panel being 9.

Hope this helps.

Fizicx- Nope that didn't work again. I rechecked the ceiling of the blue dome and drew another picture and I am sure that I picked the right one in room D of the glass maze.

If you did the right panel correctly based on the graphic solved on both the wts, then redo the ball-light puzzle again. You might not have primed it for a correct number. luck

MaG-I re-did the ball-light puzzle, got a different number which was 19 and it worked. I have now finally finished this game. Boy, was this a struggle right up to the end. Now I will go and work on RHEM. I did this many years ago and hope to see you there.

Hey, Glad you got through. I had to do the same thing - dod a new number run on the ball-lights puzzle for me to get the side room of the blue dome puzzle correctly.

Hope you enjoyed Rhem 2 - I lvoed it. Brain exercise par excellence.

We're here for you - that is if my memory can be jump started. If not - there's Lady K, etc.. who remembers Rhem 1.

Joanie,
Is this the Moon Picture room at the Arrival building or the moon room with the roll up door?
Can you explain further what you did - so I can pinpoint where you are in the game. Thanks.

Thanks.

Okay - I know where you are now.

Exit that room after doing what you need to do. Go forward (once or twice) and turn right and see the entryway to the cavern.
Go forward and you will be at the main path. luck

Joanie,

Walk back to the area where you see the chest.
Turn around to the revolving room passage and press the button that is to right before entering the passage - this should turn the passage. Turn it until you get a ladder going up to the top level.
Climb up. The go forward to passage - turn around and press the button to turn the floor - so that you get an opening on the far hatch on the floor.
Climb down then.
Turn around and walk the passage to see 3 side rooms.

Joanie, in the Camera room, there is a 3 square puzzle by the entryway. Enter 10, 2 and 11.

Go back to the Key picture and see if you can get the key.

Good luck.

Joanie, try this : across the manhole, follow the tunnel to the right to the Revolving Door.
Go through, turn around and press the button.
Climb the ladder, rotate and down the ladder on the north side to face the chest.

Rotate the door again and climb down the ladder at the far end.

You will be able to follow the tunnel this time to the Moon Room.

Hope this help.

Joanie,

Go to the rotating passage across from the chest.
Press the button to get the ladder.
Climb up and then forward, turn around and press the button to turn the openings on the floor.
Go down through the farthest opening.
Climb down. Press button to get the passage rather than the ladder.
Walk across to the other side.
At your right will be an opening. That is where the screened door was before. You should have raised it earlier to gain access to that area.
Enter and see a ladder.

Go back across the rotating passage, turn around, press button to get the ladder.
Climb up to top level of rotating passage.
Go forward to another screen door. There should be a button on the right - press that and the screen door should go up.
Go back down to where you saw the screen door again and continue. Good luck.

Joanie,

When you did the XYZ thing - did you turn right and press button to get the key piece?

I don't have saved games but you can always go back to get the other key. - one was given to you at start of game and the other one is at Kael's room.

Yes I got the third key and I got the first one too. I don't know how I missed the second one.I went to an earlier saved game and Kael said the key was in a monitor next to a chest? I have no idea how to get back or even where I am.

Joanie, what helped me in this section was to print a second copy of the walkthrough page that has the maze drawn on it. As you are reading the directions on one page, "follow" the maze on the other page with your finger, physically turning the paper to indicate which direction you're facing (so the direction you're facing is always at the top). I also have an awful sense of direction and don't think I could have made it through the maze if I hadn't had that piece of paper to turn around.

Thanks fov! I printed out the section. Before doing that I did stumble onto Room D. I am having a hard time knowing if I am in a room or not. Do I have to go forward 2 times to be in a room? It is very confusing to me. Anyway, I am now stuck in D! :-(I did get the safety device.

Joanie,

I posted this for smitty - see if it helps you:

Be sure you are using the compass the way that Knut wants north is top, west is the right arrow, east is left and down arrow is south.

From room D -
Go back to C (east), H (south), L (south), K (east), G (east), F (east) and A (north).

In A, turn around-south, press button and door closes. Go to B (west).

In B, press the button at center of door. Go to C (west), H (south), L (south), K (east), G (north), F (east), J (south), N (south), R (south), S (west), T (west) and U (west).

In U, press button and door closes. Go to T (east), S (east), R (east), N (north), J (north), F (north), G (west), K (south), O (south) and P (west).

In P, turn left-north, press door and door opens (don't go in). Go to O (west).

In O, turn around-east, press button and door closes. Go back to K (north), L (west), P (south), Q (west) and M (north).

Hope that gets you through.

EDIT: If you want the traditional west is at the left of the compass and east is on the right - just interchange east and west on above post.

I am still having problems leaving Room D. I think the problem is that I found the room somehow without opening and closing the right doors. Maybe if you have the directions from the beginning I could just start over? That would be so great and I would sure appreciate the help!Sorry for being such a pest.

Joanie,

The directions are in the walkthrough.

At I, go forward to H. Press button and door opens. Go to G, K, O.
At O, turn left-east, press button and door closes. Go back to K and then J.
At J, turn around-east, press button and door closes. Go to N, R, S (with colored numbers and dented grill), T (with grill that leads to ladder), U (with arrow), Q (with brown door), P, L, K and O.
At O, turn left-east, press button and door opens. Go forward to P.
At P, turn left-north, press button and door closes. Go back to O, K, G and H.
At H, turn around-west, press button and door closes. Go to L, K, G and F.
At F, note the lines at left of door and purple button. Go to A (with barred window).
At A, turn left-east, press button and door opens. Go forward to B and see symbols on the door and colored numbers on the wall - red nine, blue 22 and green 3. Go back to A, F, G, K, L, H and C.
At C, turn left-west, study the code with yellow squares and then turn around-east.

Do the door puzzle on room C to open door D.

Then the other direction on the other post.

You can do it - just do it slowly and with the tips given by Emily. Make a copy of the map and the directions. Then use a pencil to mark where you have been. Turn that paper as the directions you are following. luck

Joanie,

I'm so proud of you. You made it. bravo Don't ever say you're not an adventurer. Very Good!

In room E, go inside that room and see that each exit has a force field. While inside, look at the side of the exit - there should be letters there.

frown Here I am again! I have the third blue fragment from the blue domed room. I went through the gold door, up a couple ladders to I think the C elevator. I went forward to I think the A elevator(it has the 2 squares up & down)from there I am lost and can't find my way to the balcony. I can't seem to get around the elevator. Can anyone point me in the right direction! Please? woozy

Just a recap:

The blue domed room is on second floor of the tower, so go out to the walkway and out through the door.
Climb up 2 flights of the ladder and enter elevator C.
Go down elevator C. Walk out (L-shaped path)to the other elevator and enter - this is elevator A.
Go up elevator A, exit.

Now this is where you need to go around to the other side of elevator A.

Go forward and you enter the room that is one corner of the Walkway water cavern area.
Exit to the left and see the walkway-water cavern area.
Go forward and left to enter the elevator area again. You should be facing eleavtor B by this time.
Take a left to the other side of elevator A.

Go down elevator A, exit, forward and left at the door that was close earlier. It should now be opened when the red button was pressed to green at the balcony accessed by ladder after riding the cab by the glass maze.

luck

Is the door that should be open now the one with the big blue ball on one side and a box with a green light there too? If so it isn't opened. I keep going around in circles once I get to the room. I don't know what I am doing wrong and I don't know how to correct it! Is it hopeless? I hate to give up this close to the end!

Joanie,

I know you can do it - bravo Now for the way back to that puzzle room again. wink
The most common problem here is that red. Some say it is magenta. The one that worked for me is the one shown on the wt. You say you have red and orange - see which on works on that. You will be getting that exercise now. lol

Again thanks MaG! I can really use the exercise! Bummer! Any ideas on the Blue? The Green in the 3rd box is a lot lighter than the WT but since it is the only green, that at least must be right!!?? wink Thank You!

Yahoo! Joanie, I know you can do this, you try, do meticulous, hair pulling parts and not lose patience. You are a definite Adventurer. smile

That red makes it difficult for gamers. Maybe monitor differences.

Hello someone...
I am approximately one-third through this game and I have 'hit' my first 'roadblock'...
I have come up out of the manhole, heading for the Moon room...Marita's W/T says "Go to the upper level rotating passage"...

I have wandered into every 'nook and cranny' but I can't seem to locate this 'upper level passage'...a clue would be very welcome here!
Thank you...SOLVER

Hi Solver,

Presumably, you have done the colored dots puzzles, press the red button to close the door - click to slide the tube and make a complete connection and press the red button to slide the door on the right. This opens the passage from under the moon room to the passage going to the chest via the ladder behind the rotating passage.

If you have done the above important steps:
Go out of the manhole.
Go forward to the water cavern entrance.
Turn right and forward until the rotating passage.
Go to the other side of the rotating passage and then turn around and press the button to get the ladder on our side.
Climb up and you will now be at the upper rotating passage. luck

Dear Marita...
I have no idea how it happened, but I went into LOAD and selected the next to the last saved game, I found myself in the area of the manhole, so I did the manhole thing all over again and found that it had been done...
I then proceeded to follow your W/T and listened to Kales little speech...I now have the piece of the key...
I don't know how you did it 'Magic Marita'...but
at least I don't have to start over!!
Thanks much...SOLVER

Hello Marita...
I have very little confidence in completing this game...I get lost and confused too easily...
I have finished the '45 deg angle'...going for the '270 deg. angle'...and I'm lost!
By the way...MUST I complete all of these '? deg. angle things in order to finish the game?

Another question...When I am in the room with the 'green' rabbit head and the picture of the 'moon'...am I in the 'MOON ROOM'?
Sorry for being so dense...SOLVER

I think you can skip getting the angle clues and just proceed to go to the elevators. The info for the angles are in the walkthrough.

Yes, that Moon room is the one with picture of the moon and the rabbit looking blue or your green thingie.

Greetings...
I am in the Blue domed room...I have checked out the numbers on the bottom of the elevator...I am attempting to click them into the 4 squares panel door...I am pressing the pads, but I can't seem to define a 'sequence'...
A little clue would sure be nice right about here!

Thanks in advance...SOLVER

Solver, the way I see it, you will press the upper right pad first (1), then the bottom right(2), upper left(3), bottom right(4)........

Will this help you???

Ok, I've done quite well, so far, (with some help from MaGs' w't...however, I am unable to get from the tower to the "ships gallery". I turned off the light bulb and gone down the hatch. Ridden the rail car and done some exploring. Found the cabinet with the track switch. gone up two ladders and am unable to go through the "gates" into the gallery or up the other "screened hatch" as neither will open. At the original switch box outside the tower I put the switches as suggested in the walk though. When I set them for the second time I get stuck. What did I miss? Yes, I foung the other panel which needed the numbers in a specific order, but guess I jumped the gun.

Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday.

Dhart, for the second ladder that will get you in the ship gallery,, you will have to go back and activate the pink pipes connection at 1st tower level. That will active the button to open the grill.

Hope this can help.

Ok, I've tried the pipes connection. Would someone just get me into the room? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Dhart,

I don't have saved games for RHEM 2. It would be best to follow Chief's advice - activate the pink pipes, then you can open the grill to the ship's gallery room.

Flip switches at:
Top left -lean to the left,
top middle - right,
top right - right,
bottom left - left
and bottom middle/right - lean to left.

Hello Friends...
I have cleared the Glass Maze...did all that I should prior to slidding down the sloping pipe...I am standing at the Crossway...but I'll be darned if I can get to the Elevator Cavern...
I have 'poked' into almost every direction...I sure could use a 'push' about here!...I think my main problem is playing this game for the first time...I think the second or third will be a lot more fun...Thanks...SOLVER

Solver,

If you are standing at the entrance close to the manhole - Take the right path towards the rotating passage.
Before you enter the rotating passage, take a left to the formerly screened door entrance - should be open.
Climb the ladder, turn around and exit.
Go forward and turn right to the elevator cavern. luck
I left a trail of crumbs for you to follow. laugh

Thank you...your trail of crumbs sure did the trick...I had to do some 'jockeying' because the screen door was closed...but I got it open and now I'm standing in front of an elevator...
Thank you again...SOLVER

Hi Friends...
Unless I am mistaken, I thought a walkthrough was to provide 'solutions' to puzzles when we hit a wall...I have just spent an inordinate amount of time not only trying to understand, but solve the Ball-lights puzzle...
Please..please...I need the solution numbers or at best, a clearer method of defining them...
I would so like to finish this game in my lifetime...Thank you much...SOLVER duh

Solver, The ball-lights is NOT a puzzle - it is a clue. It is a setup that primes another puzzle. Whatever you get-see from this setup is to be entered in another puzzle at the blue domed room. If you read the walkthrough - it is stated there.

Press the red button and take note of the path of the ball and the color lit up when the ball goes into the hole.
The ball's path are 3 lines - draw those lines.
The ball will end at the base and will light up a color - note that color.
Then compare those lines and the color to plaques you saw all over the place during your gameplay and you will get a number. That number is to be used later in another puzzle.

Smitty,

Be sure you are using the compass the way that Knut wants north is top, west is the right arrow, east is left and down arrow is south.

EDIT: If you want the traditional west is at the left of the compass and east is on the right - just interchange east and west on above post. luck

When I got to the 4th Level, the tumbler entrance was not facing me...any ideas where I goofed up?...PLEASE!!...SOLVER

The most common problem here is the red color - some says it's the magenta that's correct. I think it's a monitor color setting. Play with that button to see if that other red will work for you. luck

No problem, Solver. That's why we're here.

It seems that the 3rd box needs to be opened again.
Go back to rail car - go back one stop and exit the car.
Redo the blue puzzle of the square in a square and see if that opens the blue box at decorated hall.
--- On right wall, flip the switch to light blue. Turn left to squares and enter 8 for the left outer square and 4 for the right inner square. Verify the numbers at the second from top at left side of panel on the left wall.

I don't have saves for this game. You arrange the pink pipes at the 1st floor tower control cabinet. You should not see any pink pipes at all because they are on the other side of the wall.
