I just finished the ABC Murders and really liked it. I searched on BF to look for more, but didn't come up with anything. Thanks for any help.

Big Fish used to carry And Then There Were None, Evil Under the Sun, and Murder on the Orient Express, but they have since been removed. Likewise with the HOP Agatha Christie games they carried as well; I believe there were four or five of those.

Those who bought them when they were offered and still have them in their Purchase History can still play them, but other players are out of luck. Sorry I don't have better news. wave

Thanks, Marian. IMO: a dumb decision by BF.

I doubt that it was Big Fish's decision to make. Sometimes the publishers choose to withdraw games from a particular site, and then there's nothing Big Fish can do about it - licensing agreements, changes in publishers, etc.

They probably had a lot of complaints about the older Agatha Christie adventure games not working -- video card requirements too high for older computers (needing a minimum of 64MB of discrete video memory, not shared), and not compatible with Windows 10 drivers on new computers.

As for the casual Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile and Peril at End House, those had little gameplay other than hidden object scenes with very small objects, and probably weren't a popular style any more.

So even if it was their decision, I don't really blame Big Fish for not wanting to support these games any more. Support for these older games probably ate up a disproportionate amount of their time, and they probably ended up issuing credits for different games most of the time anyway.

Big Fish also carried 4:50 from Paddington, Dead Man's Folly, and there might have been one more.

Last year all of the Cake Mania games were removed. I know that Sandlot, the developer, was bought out by a company called Digital Chocolate, and that may have had something to do with their removal. Gamehouse doesn't appear to carry the games anymore either.

And the first two Hidden Expedition games that Eipix did, the games with Smithsonian in the title, have also been taken down. I figure they must have had some kind of agreement with the Smithsonian which expired, or something like that.

Those are just a few examples of games that have been removed.

I didn't know about Big Fish had 4:50 from Paddington or Dead Man's Folly, but the Big Fish search engine is abysmal and I can never find anything with it. I try to search for games in a series and it throws completely different, unrelated games at me, simply because they are "popular" or something.

It looks like Digital Chocolate was also sold -- to a company called "RockYou".

And it looks like "RockYou" is an ad company.

Since 2014, it has engaged primarily in the purchases of rights to classic video games; it incorporates in-game ads and re-distributes the games.

Sad fate for the games -- to be polluted with ads.

I have all 4 of those casual games.

I don't see Bejeweled on there anymore either.

Who wants to play a game with ads in it?

I liked ABC Murders except for the bugs. I regularly had to quit and renter because the examine person or talk to person options would frequently not appear. Also the lack of skip puzzle options makes it more like a miniadventure game rather than a casual game.

Its been so long since I've read the book I can't remember exactly how it ended so not sure whether game matched it or not.

Yeah BF search engine has problems. I'll search a series title to see if I missed any games and it won't even show me the games I know I played in the series on occasion.

Guybrush: I used a written w/t which greatly helped with some of the puzzles. I really enjoy detective games and really wish there were more.
