This very old game by HavokWare includes a set of puzzles where you need to repeat sequnces of moves. There are several of these and if you get the pattern wrong, the sequence speeds up making it that much harder to follow.
The longest sequence is about ten items.

Now the game was written for Win95 and perhaps was slow enough to be solvable on such an old machine. On my WinXP unit, even when I slow down the game using the program CPUKiller, the sequence to repeat is so fast that it is impossible to memorize.

Every other puzzle can be bypassed by using the ? key, but this particular one does not respond to the ? key. Is there any way to bypass this puzzle?
The game is old enough that I can't get any good hits with Google if this question has been discussed.

Robert

I just did my own search (walkthroughs, google, etc.) in regards to your question and can't find anything other than the ? you already mentioned for help with puzzles. It also seems a good 15 years or so since I have seen any mention at all of this game on GameBoomers and a search for old posts about the game brought up nothing. Sorry I can't be of any help with this.

If you are playing in a virtual machine, you could try turning off hardware virtualization in the computer BIOS (if it's on).

Here's are some lists of slowdown programs
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8070
http://www.sierrahelp.com/Utilities/SlowdownUtilities.html
http://www.geocities.ws/kulhain/

This site tells how to slow down the PC by disabling cache
http://www.oldskool.org/guides/oldonnew/cripple

I don't know if I have saves for this game, but I can check.

EDIT --

I did find saves. Here's a list (not in any particular order):

4WAYJUNCTIONROOM.adb
MAZEDIDCRYSTALPUZZLE.adb
OUTSTATION2VISIT2CD3.adb
AFTERMAZECD3.adb
MAZEDIDKNIGHTJUMPPUZZLE.adb
POWERSTAFTEROUTSTATION3CD2.adb
COMPUTERCOREWITHSKULL.adb
MAZEWEAPONROOM.adb
SECURITYROOM.adb
DIDEYEBALLSGOTNAVCODE.adb
MINEANDMAZE.adb
TOOUTSTATION3CD3.adb

MOONMININGCOLONYCD3.adb

GOTSECURITYCODE.adb
MOONVISIT2CD3.adb

MUSICPUZZLE.adb
TOSCIENCESTATIONVISIT3CD2.adb
LOWEREDTEMPERATURE.adb
OUTSTATION1CD3.adb
wen.wen
MAZEALIENFETUSROOM.adb
OUTSTATION2.adb

I don't know if the wen.wen is a catalog file for the saves or not.

Jenny,

I'll check out the slowdown programs. Not sure what would be the required save. The puzzle occurs in the mine at a four way junction turntable shere you take the right (3 o'clock) path.

Since the walkthroughs have the mine maze after that, your mineandmaze.adb may be the needed save.

Robert,
I played the game so long ago I don't remember much about it.
I zipped up the folder containing the saves and it's about 208.7 kb.
I'll send the zipped folder to the email in your profile.
Let me know if you don't get it and I can try resending from a different email address.

This was saved to a DVD so the files are probably read-only now. I don't know if that matters to the game, but if it does, just remove the read-only attribute.

Hi Robert,

When puzzles are that quick and I can't follow it with my eyes I use a videocamera and watch it on a other device in slow motion.
The first time I used this method was with the game Reah, the last puzzle was to quick for me.

I also used it with Schizm 1 in de telescooppuzzle.
