I have windows 8.1,graphics Intel R HD 4600.In chapter one,after all the clues are gathered I'm supposed to enter the apartment of the crime,but the game crashes every time.Steam has some suggestions but nothing works.It seems that others have had this problem to.Can anyone help please?

in the Hints thread, but what's being suggested in the above thread is not the "launch box" and you don't type "DX9" anywhere.

You add
-dx9
(you absolutely need the hyphen) to the target field of the game shortcut.
