I had a free game code sitting in my email, then my hubby had to do a clean install. It was only after the comp. was up & running that I realized I lost my free game because I didn't write it down(duh). I wrote to BF & asked if they could find it for me, I told them I understand if they couldn't because they have many members from all over the world to deal with & it was all my fault for not writing it down. Two days later Taylor from Seattle wrote back with my free game code. This person was so nice & said they wouldn't want to lose a free game either. I let BF know how they & Taylor were there for their members. Not all game companies care.

It's really nice of you to compliment Big Fish customer service, Judith. I've always been treated well when I've had problems. I do a lot of online shopping and I have to say, BFG is the smoothest operating site of all that I use. Top notch.

They have always been quick to help me out, too. I make sure I give them all the info they need to figure out what may have happened. A couple of days ago, I had a totally new glitch, though. Bought a game, downloaded it, and when it came to Validation, it went through that and then just blanked out on me: "Game Manager not responding." I had to do bail out to get control of my PC again.

So, although I got the email that my purchase went through and the game shows up on my Purchase History, I can't start it. Also, can't try to repurchase it because it says, "You already own this game." Catch 22.

I have purchased over 100 games from them over the years and have had various minor glitches but never something like this. I sent them a Help inquiry and they replied right away with their canned message about how to fix it, but nothing in that was applicable. So, I am waiting for them to get back to me.

Hi, Reenie!

Whenever I run into that problem, re-starting my computer sometimes fixes it. If that fails, I uninstall and reinstall the Game Manager. Then you can go to your Purchase History and reinstall the game.

I often get the "not responding" message while validating a game. Not sure if it says "game manager" or Big Fish". I just wait it out and it comes back and finishes up. It seems to me it's just part of the process. Nobody else gets this?

I don't get the "not responding" message, oldbroad, but I am struggling with a different error message at the moment. I download a demo for one particular game and it won't install - I just get a message in the GM for the game that says "waiting for download," but it never does. This has never happened to me before and it's only with one game, but I would really like to know what the problem is. Thus far the suggestions from Big Fish have not worked, but we will see. sherlock

Marian have you signed out of both the manager and big fish and then signed in again... that helped me one time

I got an email back from Big Fish about this and they gave me instructions to modify the Game Manager and then try reinstalling the game. It is "Installing" now, but that worked the first time. It was in the second part, "Validation," that it locked up. Fingers crossed.

Well Marian, at least it is only that one game. I understand you're wanting to know why though. I still want to know why I can't play Echoes of the Past: Wolf Healer. I try it every now and then in case something has changed. Maybe it will work on my next computer that I will probably get when I'm forced to go to Windows 10.

Reenie, good luck. I hope it worked.

It did work. I have access to the game now. happydance I haven't started it, but assume it will launch OK. We're a little busy here, arranging our birthday party. Will have time over the weekend to try playing.

That's great, Reenie! happydance

Yes, oldbroad, I do wish to know the why. And things like this make me uneasy because I don't know if they are one-offs or the start of something. Most likely it's the latter, though. Hopefully Wolf Healer will eventually run on some computer. smile
