A FMV point and click adventure game where YOUR decisions make a difference.

View the trailer here.

Check out the Kickstarter here.

For more info visit the Official website here.

Quote:
When his 2 children are snatched from their bedrooms from within their country house in the middle of nowhere, it’s up to single father Dean to work out where they are, but most importantly, WHO took them.

The game is a complete FMV interactive adventure and will feature point and click elements, plus story-branching, meaning you can alter how the game plays out from beginning to end.

Happy Gaming!

I wish they wouldn't give new games the same name as old ones.

The 1998 FMV game "Dark Side of the Moon" by SouthPeak Interactive was very good, with the biggest flaw of the DVD version being that the viewing area was windowed due to technical limitations of the time.
http://www.gameboomers.com/reviews/Dd/DSOMbygsd.htm

The CD version had serious issues with disc swapping, but the DVD version was on a single disc and no swapping.

A fix for missing text in the game on Windows XP was posted by GreyFuss back in 2011 ***here***.

As for the new game, it looks nice but I'm not fond of this aspect described on the ***Kickstarter page***:
Quote:
It will combine the mechanics of a quality FMV game along with the point and click aspects of great adventure game. Add to that a handful of quick-decision moments which will affect the game.

I did not see anything about whether manual saves are allowed
Was that mentioned anywhere?

Yes, this calls for some confusion since the (excellent) 1998 game with the same name also was an FMV game. The game looks interesting, but the "quick-decision moments" is a strange design choice, since it's more or less common knowledge that it will put off A LOT off the potential players.

I'm on the fence with this new one, but I sure would love it if GOG would release the 1998 game by SouthPeak. that was a really good game. I'd buy it in an instant.

Yes, the original Dark Side of the Moon would be perfect to re-release. It's a good game, it would look (relatively) modern with some updates, and the serious bugs with the CD version will most likely increase the demand.

I think there were mazelike places because you had to move around without being seen and had to crawl through vents. There was also the "cavern maze" later in the game.

I was thinking about the cavern maze. But, now I remember that that were more mazelike locations.

I have horrible memories of clambering through (and getting lost in) ventilation shafts from one of the early Tex Murphy games !!

And so they are not one of my favourite places lol
