I have been walking around in the cemetery for a long time looking for the tree with Romeo and Juliet's names on it. I even have a picture of the tree from another walkthrough. I have looked and looked and nothing lights up like I can check it. Can someone be more specific about where I have to look? Is it up the tree or at the bottom? Any help would be appreciated.

MaG's walkthrough says this:

Quote:
Go to the back part of the cemetery. Check all the trees. Go to the right and look close at the tree at the end of the front row.

If you can find this tree and can't interact with it, then I suspect that there's something else you need to have done first.

Maybe another player can give you some good advice about this.

I couldn't interact with the tree, but, I did find it. so, I figured that I missed something and went back to the shed and found a note on the wall that I hadn't clicked on. so, I am getting on now. Thanks.

I am at the fun fair. I get to the spot where Holmes says "I can hear noises" I don't know where to go from there. The only place I can get into, it seems, is the tent where the guy is on stage acting or preparing a speech. I don't see a telephone line and can't find the red caravan. Please tell me where to go from here. thanks.

Have you tried checking out MaG's walkthrough here? That should help you figure out what you might have missed.

yes, I have checked it but I am still lost. I don't know where to go after the noise scene. I just can't find the red caravan and telephone line.

Good luck. If all else fails, we can look at a video walkthrough.

There is also a walkthrough with lots of screenshots on the site of Marinus_Louis: www.pcgameswalkthroughs.nl
It is in Dutch but with the help of google translate you can use it.
There are about 760 screenshots in the walkthrough, only looking at the screenshot can help you very much.

Succes wit the game

That's one of the things that make Marinus' walkthroughs so great - screenshots.

I am in the maze. I have opened every door that I can, I have the sheet rope in place and one of the boards. I can't put another board down. Help. My biggest problem is that I tried to solve it on my own first and there is no reset button. So, now I am lost on how to follow the walkthrough.

btw, I turned up my gamma and that was part of my problem. It was so dark that I couldn't see where I was going. That sure helped!

Yes, having a brighter screen can definitely help.

Let's wait and see if another player can help you out.

could I possibly get a saved game from someone for after this maze? I have restarted from an old saved game and I am still lost. I got the game from GOG if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I don't know if any of our members have saved games to offer. We will just have to wait and see.

While we are waiting, might I suggest that you watch this video walkthrough concerning the fun-fair? Maybe it would help.

I have watched them all and nothing seems to help me. I really think my problem is trying to solve it myself instead of looking at a walkthrough. oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

I usually break down and look at a walkthrough when I get stuck. I admire those with the patience and the persistence to be stuck for long periods of time without getting some help. Most of the time, I am not one of those people.

I just found some saved games for the game from Frogwares' website here. They are to be found next to the yellow folder that says TToSH.

I restarted this game from the beginning. I am still stuck in the maze. I printed on MaG's walkthrough and from the time that she says that there is a cross at the end of the hallway and the next door should swing right, I am lost. The door that I am opening swings left. The saves from Frogsware are not labeled where they are at, so I haven't downloaded them. Any help from the time I use the oil on the first door but don't go into it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think we should wait and hope that another player comes along who will be able to lend a hand. Not having played the game myself, we have pretty much exhausted the possibilities in terms of my being able to help.

It has been too long since I played the game to remember much of anything about it.
But UHS Hints has hints for it here
http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/sherlock-testament.php

Maybe they have a tip about where you are in the game that could help you.

thanks Jenny100 but they don't show what doors to open so that I can put the planks down. I hate watching videos of the game but maybe that will be my next step. thanks though.

I don't know if Steam and GOG are compatible but, that is okay. I gave up on it. It was close to the end of the game anyway.

I finished the game a couple of months ago,
and although I had to use the walkthrough
on a number of occasions (I am not ashamed to admit)
I do think the game, due to it's lenght and variety
of locations, was real satisfying joy
