I was having fun with this game until I ran into this arcade game trying to kill guards and gods before they shoot me down. Any idea if there are saves somewhere and if they would work with the Big Fish version and in Windows 7? I've spent about 2 hours so far with a break in between. I'll keep trying in this fashion but I don't know if I'll ever get it.

I remember when this game was released that most people here thought it was a major pain and quite unfun due to some timed/annoying sequences. I looked around at a couple of saved-game websites that I use and did not find any saved games for Atlantis Evolution. I'll let you know if anything turns up.

This site is not one that I have ever used and is unfamiliar to me, but it has some saved games for Atlantis Evolution here. I went so far as to download the file and then scanned it with Malwarebytes and it came up clean. There appeared to be many saved games that were numbered rather than given descriptive names. As I said, I don't have any prior experience with this site, though.

Thanks for doing all that Marian. Did you click the button under this paragraph?:

"If you are ready to upgrade your game, click on Game Save and don’t wait a second more! Save Game file download option is a perfect choice – you will get great improvement for your game version. No more worries about the lost battles – it’s a way to fix all the mistakes within few clicks! Can it be better? Definitely not! So try our Save Game free examples and give this extra boost your game. Enjoy the game to the fullest!"

This description sounds a little weird to me.

No, I hadn't read that. It's possible the site is based in another country where English is not the first language, although I don't know that for a fact. One of my favorite saved-game sources is based in France and it would not be unusual if the site was overseas. I notice they also have a Facebook page.

Anyway, I went through some old GameBoomer posts from years ago and I can see that when people were playing the game that MaG and Rushes were sending them saved games. I don't have any saved games for Atlantis Evolution, though - it's not listed among the saved games that she made available to me.

Well, hopefully I will get past this part eventually (and any future parts like it if there are more). wink

You know, sometimes just writing in here works miracles!

You are definitely not alone having trouble with this part of the game. In the old Big Fish forum, many people are asking if anyone has a saved game they could send them.

I never even thought to look in the Big Fish forum. I was using the walkthrough and the strategy shown in there but...

Well, the forums are closed, but I can still find my way into them via typing words into a search engine (at least, most of the time).

Yes, I took a look after reading your post. I just never thought about it since it's an adventure game, even though it is the Big Fish version that I'm playing. Just didn't enter my mind.

When the game came out, Jenny100 reviewed the game - here. I thought she wrote a well-balanced and objective review.

Not sure why you are playing this when you could be playing Gabriel Knight 2. grin

Just kidding - I know you will get around to that one eventually. And who knows, maybe you won't even like it!

I'm sorry I can't find my saves. I don't even remember which computer I played it on.

If you compare the walkthrough at Big Fish with Marita's walkthrough of the original at
http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcAa/AE.htm
and you see things missing from the Big Fish walkthrough, then you can guess that the Big Fish version has had parts removed and the saves wouldn't be compatible between versions.

If the walkthroughs match up, then saves from the original might work.

Also, if the Big Fish version uses autosaves, then it's different from the older version and saves probably wouldn't be compatible between them.

I am pretty sure that the Big Fish version has not been altered from the original.

I read Jenny's review before I started the game and I am using MaG's walkthrough for guidance. So far it seems to be the same. BUT, can you tell me about the very beginning of the game (disc version) with the water vortex? When I first bought the game on disc I installed it and started it and it seems to me that I got dizzy IN the water thing. In the Big Fish version you are not actually in it and no dizziness. Am I remembering wrong and just imagined it that way for some reason? I still have the discs but Big Fish seemed the easier route. You save at will but I've not actually seen them. When you go back in the game you start where you left off. I've had no reason to try to load a prior save.

Thanks for checking anyway Jenny for your saves.

Still no luck and already getting tired of trying. frown

If you can't find the answer to your question about the beginning of the game, maybe try watching some YouTube videos to see what happens with the water vortex?

OOOHHHH. I got it!!!! joy

Of course, even following the walkthrough I'm getting killed over and over now. I don't think I understand the walkthrough directions. I need to see if I have a printed copy which will be easier to use. I used to print them out whenever I bought a game.

Shoot. I can't find my printed WT and I know from my games list that I have one. I used to have them all in one place in alpha order but somewhere along the way some got moved here and some there and I can't find this one, of course.

Well, I managed to make it to the sky palace and exited the game for tonight. Totally using the walkthrough now. smile

I made it through the monkey puzzle tonight. I did look at the walkthrough for guidance/object of game but that was it. After I solved the puzzle I looked at the walkthrough to see what's coming up for me next time I play the game and saw that the SOLUTION was in the walkthrough and I could have saved myself almost 2 hours of trying to get through that puzzle. BUT, I'm glad I was able to do it on my own. This mini game was better than that other one anyway.

It's a good thing I am also currently replaying the Carol Reed games. On to that now for some CALM playing! lol

Carol Reed sounds like a good counterbalance to Atlantis Evolution. A study in contrasts. lol

I've got as far as the "lines puzzle" but THIS may be the one that does me in. I.DO.NOT.LIKE.THIS.PUZZLE! I have only been at it for a few minutes but my arm is hurting and I am more aggravated than I was after hours of the shooting game. It is not fun and feels impossible to do.

Well, after that rant I got it fairly quickly after all, but my arm does hurt and I would not ever want to do a puzzle like that again!!!

I just finished the game. It was a beautiful game and I can see that it was probably a very good game providing you don't mind the arcade and stealth parts. At least in the stealth parts you could save every step of the way, which I did even though I was trying to follow the walkthrough. I was still going the wrong way half the time. lol I am not good at arcade games but otherwise did not totally dislike them (except that line one). What I did find a bit annoying was at the very end of the game. I was stuck and had to consult the walkthrough. There were hotspot indicators all over except where I needed to do something (throw stones somewhere). Then you had to keep throwing the stones to get the person to follow you and to get her to know what you were telling/showing her. I didn't really care for that too much. Anyway, I AM glad I finally was able to play the game though!
