It sounds really good, but I always wait for the SE.

Hi, Marian!

I picked this one up this morning along with "Wanderlust: The City of Mists" in BFG's BOGO sale and, so far, am really enjoying it. Some of the puzzles and HO scenes are quite unique but not difficult. I never use the Hint button unless absolutely necessary and it's right beside the Map, so I have to be very careful I don't click on the wrong one.

Thanks so much for telling us about the game, Susan. I think Grandma Studios always does a very nice job on their games and they also seem to have been made with care. I will look forward to playing this one! wave

Hi, Marian!

You are most welcome! I think you'll enjoy it if you picked it up in this weekend's sale. I haven't bought a lot of CEs lately, so I was able to use 2 Game Club credits.

Hi, Marian!

I just started the bonus game last night and enjoyed the main game very much. The bonus game picks up where the main game ends, and there is also an Epilogue, but I have no idea what that entails.

I enjoyed Cursed Wealth, although it was in no way a challenge, I did get involved in it, and it was complex enough to be interesting. So, I bought the next game in the series, Golden Silence. What a difference! GS is not compelling at all. Everything is laid out for you, and all you have to do is follow the arrows. The mini-games are ridiculously easy, so much so that they don't constitute "puzzles" at all, and I subsequently have lost interest in the game. There is nothing about the characters to draw you in or make you care what happens to them. There is no real compelling reason to pursue the solution. About all I can say about this game is that they didn't throw pop-ups in your face.

If all you want is a hand-holding, an easy sort of romp, go ahead and buy Golden Silence. As for me, it may have been enough to make me abandon this series.

Golden Silence came out in 2015. The Whispered Secrets game directly preceding Cursed Wealth is Whispered Secrets: Enfant Terrible. wave

That is good to know, Marian, thanks. I only know the "order" of the games by when they appear for me when I open Big Fish. I never look at issue dates. If this is an older game, that is reassuring.

I did buy and play Enfant Terrible. It wasn't bad or good; somewhere in the middle. It lasted a good while and half the puzzles were decent fun, so I was satisfied, even though it was pretty heavy on HO scenes, for my taste. Into Beyond and Ever-Burning Candle were disappointing, and I even bailed out on the demo for the latter. Most of the games in this series feel like they are targeted at young adults. They are very easy and sometimes cartoonish.

Here is the Whispered Secrets series order and dates:

1. The Story of Tideville ... October 2012
2. Into the Beyond ... November 2013
3. Into the Wind ... October 2014
4. Golden Silence ... August 2015
5. Everburning Candle ... April 2016
6. Song of Sorrow ... November 2016
7. Forgotten Sins ... September 2017
8. Enfant Terrible ... July 2018
9. Cursed Wealth ... March 2019

Dates are from rgamereview.com

I have the 1st, 2nd, and 5th ones.
I never bought any after that.
I thought the 1st one was OK back in 2012 when I bought it,
but was not impressed with the other two.

This is helpful, Jenny. I bailed on the Demo or was not impressed with three of the earlier issues and the last two are the only ones I gave at least a "Good" review in my own records. So, one could take this to suggest they have improved as they have gone along. happydance
