TLC, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Sometimes there can be temporary glitches like this.

TLC: Did you install the demo first? There have been issues with those who have a large number of purchases in their purchase history when trying to buy without having downloaded the demo. The workaround is to download the demo first and then choose to buy.

Well, despite all the games I still have that I've not yet played, I've gone and bought this one as well - because I liked the first one laugh

Mad, I would have stopped buying games a loooonnnggg time ago if one of the requirements prior to purchase was having completed all of the games that I already have - and the same applies to buying a new book. I sure would have saved a lot of money. grin

I just played the Demo for this game and I'm not sold on it . There is nothing original about it aside from switching which player is in charge of the action. The puzzles are good but nothing that makes you scratch your head; no clever ideas, no challenges and not related to the story. The art and "camera work" are nothing to write home about. Overall, it is pretty standard HOA fare, with the usual collectibles, morphing objects, pop-ups and the familiar clichés of HOA game play: everything is broken, rusted or missing parts that must be found. You can almost hear the game designer saying, "We need to throw in another missing knob here and another leaking steam pipe there." (And as for that steam pipe, whoever has had one installed on their front porch RIGHT at the front door, with a big red valve and the possibility it might spring a leak and block the door? Yeah. That is what I mean about finding the game almost silly.) Basically, I felt that the game didn't try hard enough to be compelling or even much fun, and did way too much hand-holding for an adult game player in any case. It felt like playing a game from a couple of years ago. It just didn't sparkle.

Hi, Reenie!

I'm glad it's not just me. I really enjoyed the first game and thought the concept was excellent, but this one just didn't grab me so I deleted the demo. BTW, I agree about having a steam pipe installed on the front porch. Who does that lol ?

Yep. I can cite that as the point at which I tipped over to knowing I wasn't going to buy the game. rotfl

That is what is good about these games! Some people enjoy timed sequences and others hate them. Some like gore and horror while others steer away from such games. Some people are fussy about art quality, story integrity and having puzzles that are a challenge while others don't care one way or the other. There are so many games available at BF that there literally is something for everyone.

Hi, Marian!

I find that when I'm not enjoying a game, I become a lot more picky, whereas if I'm really enjoying it, I can suspend reality and overlook the most ridiculous things. I think that was the case with this one. After playing the first game in the series, this one was a letdown, so the steam pipe on the front porch was just one of many things that bugged me smile !

Common sense being utilised in computer games, whatever the genre, is relatively sparse and so I seldom expect it - which helps to avoid disappointment woozy

That can definitely be the case.
The closer you get to breaking that camel's back, the more painful the game is.

Well I guess common sense is lost with me, I enjoyed this one better than the 1st, steam pipe or not, I guess one of the reason I enjoyed it more is the three characters worked better together than in the 1st one, and the game for me seemed to move along at a more interesting pace..
