I’ve had no problem. Using the link on the GB page takes me to the new Big Fish home page. At the top of the new Big Fish page it tells you that if you prefer the classic site just click on the words “classic site” (which is right there in the sentence at the top of the page) It takes you to the old familiar version. Maybe the key is to use the link on this site.

Using a search engine to take me to Big Fish Games, I still get the sentence with the words "classic site" across the top of the page when I arrive there.

If the link for "classic site" had been on the page displayed by Mad's browser, I think she would have found it by now. Don't forget Mad lives in the UK. Maybe Big Fish's defaults are different for the UK.

As long as Big Fish doesn't try to change the
https://www.bigfishgames.com/pc-games/
webpage to something else, it's better to just keep a link to that URL handy, either a desktop link or add the link to your browser's bookmarks bar. That's assuming you don't like the new homepage and think it's useless.

If you're going to bigfishgames.com and it's showing you the old homepage, you may be seeing a cached page rather than the current one. If so, your ISP may be responsible and their cache server will eventually update to the new homepage. Cache servers are used to speed up web traffic.

"you don't like the new homepage and think it's useless."

This would be me! I don't like it and don't see any use to it as you cannot even search from it. I still don't like GOG's "new" site either!

Big and Gaudy IMO!

If you scroll down to the bottom of the new home page to “Ways to Play” and choose “PC Games” for example, you’ll see that there’s the Search option at the top of the page.

Yes, once it brings you back to the original homepage, but not actually on the new homepage,

Actually, I'm wrong about this entirely. There is a spot at the top of the screen to click on tabs so you can search. blush I guess I just have to get used to it but I still don't have to like it smile

I was going to ask what people thought of the change. I, personally, don't like it and am glad I can still get the original.

If you don't see a white section at the top of the page, try closing down your browser and then trying it again. The site gives you an option to close this area of the page by hitting an X on the right-hand side. Perhaps you shut it down the first time before seeing all that it said. The other possibility is that you have a pop-up blocker that is preventing you from seeing it. I have Ad Block, but it doesn't prevent me from seeing this.

Anyway, no big deal. I was just curious. smile

Nope. There is no white section at the top of the page and no "Felix" .... whoever that might be duh
[And I've now tried going directly from the link here at Gameboomers and by using two different browsers !!]
Maybe as Jenny100 says, the UK gets something different ?? If so, perhaps another UK member will tell us what THEY see ??

As for me, I will just carry on using the link I created on my desktop laugh

Mad, when I said Felix, I was referring to Felix the Fish, the Big Fish Games mascot. Felix is also on the Big Fish Games logo at the top of this page.

I should have been more specific. I still have my Felix the Fish (the stuffed-animal version) which was sent to me after having been a Game Club member for a year.

Felix the Fish

How nice to have your very own "Felix the Fish" !! smile

However, there is no Felix on the "Big Fish Home Page" I reach - whichever route I take to get there ....

Mad, have you tried just entering bigfishgames.com in your browser? That should take you to the new home page with Felix at the top.

Hi.

Yes. I have used both Internet Explorer and Firefox and the link here at Gameboomers - on several occasions now. And I don't see the page that's being described.

It doesn't bother me though because I created my own link and have it sitting on my desktop so no hardship involved grin

I wonder if the new home page will eventually reach the U.K.

Anyway, although change can be frustrating, we eventually adapt. We’re creatures of habit and it’s easier to stick with what we’re used to. The familiar ways become automatic.

I have now determined that when going to the Big Fish Games website using Internet Explorer, I do not see Felix and the "classic site" message on the top of the page. I have reported this to Big Fish and they are going to look into it. I use Firefox as my regular web browser and decided to check and see if the BF page displayed correctly when using IE.

That explains it, Marian. I use Firefox.

OK. I think I know what's going on and I doubt it's anything to do with my being in the UK smile

Marian very kindly sent me a screenshot of the new Big Fish Home Page - showing that extra white strip at the top with the Felix icon and those words lol

And on seeing it, it suddenly struck me that it might be my monitor resolution that is causing the problem !!

At the moment I’m using a slightly wider monitor and I am guessing that adjusting the resolution on it might deal with the Big Fish problem. But although I’ve tried one or two different ones, I can’t find a resolution that this monitor “likes” which maybe would do the trick.
[I hasten to add that I've not encountered any similar problems at ANY OTHER websites.]

So I’ll just carry on using my self-created desktop icon because that does take me directly to "the" old Big Fish Home Page where I can clearly see everything I need to see thumbsup
